    And it happened that at mealtime, while he was reclining together with the bishops with him, a very sick man was brought to him; his interior was so inflamed that, if he had drunk a lake of water, he would have been as if he had drunk nothing at all, because of the great inflammation of his interior.

    And when the holy patriarch had taken a cup of wine, he made the sign of the cross in the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, and he gave it to the man who drank it.
