Coptic New Testament (Bohairic) · 149 sections

  1. 1.1

ⲡⲁⲩⲗⲟⲥ ⲡⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲁⲛ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲁⲛ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ⲡⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲙⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲫⲓⲱⲧ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲧⲟⲩⲛⲟⲥϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲛⲏ ⲉⲧⲙⲱⲟⲩⲧ .

Paul, an apostle (not from men, neither through man, but through Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead),

  2. 1.2

ⲛⲉⲙⲛⲓⲥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲉⲑⲛⲉⲙⲏⲓ ⲛⲛⲓⲉⲕⲕⲗⲏ ⲥⲓⲁ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲅⲁⲗⲁⲧⲓⲁ .

and all the brothers who are with me, to the assemblies of Galatia:

  3. 1.3

ⲡϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲛⲉⲙⲧϩⲓⲣⲏⲛⲏ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲡⲉⲛⲓⲱⲧ ⲛⲉⲙⲡⲉⲛϭⲟⲓⲥ ⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ⲡⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ .

Grace to you and peace from God the Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ,

  4. 1.4

ⲫⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲧⲏⲓϥ ⲉϩⲣⲏⲓ ⲉϫⲉⲛⲛⲉⲛⲛⲟⲃⲓ ϣⲁⲧⲉϥⲛⲁϩⲙⲉⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲡⲁⲓⲉⲛⲉϩ ⲉⲧϩⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲧϣⲟⲡ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲡⲉⲧⲉϩⲛⲁϥ ⲙⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲫⲓⲱⲧ

who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us out of this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father--

  5. 1.5

ⲫⲏ ⲉⲧⲉⲫⲱϥ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲓⲱⲟⲩ ϣⲁⲉⲛⲉϩ ⲛⲧⲉⲛⲓⲉⲛⲉϩ ⲁⲙⲏⲛ .

to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

  6. 1.6

ϯⲉⲣϣⲫⲏⲣⲓ ϫⲉⲡⲁⲓⲣⲏϯ ⲛⲭⲱⲗⲉⲙ ⲥⲉⲟⲩⲱⲧⲉⲃ ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲥⲁⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲫⲏ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲑⲁϩⲉⲙ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ϧⲉⲛⲡϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲙⲡⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ⲉⲕⲉⲉⲩⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲓⲟⲛ

    I marvel that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ to a different 'good news';

  7. 1.7

ⲉⲧⲉⲕⲉⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲃⲏⲗ ⲁⲣⲏⲟⲩ ϫⲉⲟⲩⲟⲛ ϩⲁⲛⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲉⲩϣⲑⲟⲣⲧⲉⲣ ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲉⲩⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲉⲫⲉⲛϩ ⲡⲓⲉⲩⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲓⲟⲛ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ

and there isn't another 'good news.' Only there are some who trouble you, and want to pervert the Good News of Christ.

  8. 1.8

ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲕⲁⲛ ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲓⲉ ⲟⲩⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲧⲫⲉ ⲛⲧⲉϥϩⲓϣⲉⲛⲛⲟⲩϥⲓ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲥⲁⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲫⲏ ⲉⲧⲁⲛϩⲓϣⲉⲛⲛⲟⲩϥⲓ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲙⲁⲣⲉϥϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲛⲟⲩⲁⲛⲁⲑⲉⲙⲁ .

But even though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you any 'good news' other than that which we preached to you, let him be cursed.

  9. 1.9

ⲙⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲉⲧⲁⲛⲉⲣϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲛϫⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲙϯⲛⲟⲩ ⲟⲛ ϯϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉⲫⲏ ⲉⲑⲛⲁϩⲓϣⲉⲛⲛⲟⲩϥⲓ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲥⲁⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲫⲏ ⲉⲧⲁⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛϭⲓⲧϥ ⲙⲁⲣⲉϥϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲛⲟⲩⲁⲛⲁⲑⲉⲙⲁ .

As we have said before, so I now say again: if any man preaches to you any 'good news' other than that which you received, let him be cursed.

  10. 1.10

ϯⲛⲟⲩ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲁⲓⲑⲱⲧ ⲙⲡϩⲏⲧ ⲛⲛⲓⲣⲱⲙⲓ ϣⲁⲛ ⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ϣⲁⲛ ⲁⲓⲕⲱϯ ⲛⲥⲁⲣⲁⲛⲁϥ ⲛⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲛⲁⲓⲣⲁⲛⲁϥ ⲛⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲟⲛ ⲓⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲟⲩⲃⲱⲕ ⲁⲛ ϫⲉⲛⲧⲉⲡⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ .

For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? For if I were still pleasing men, I wouldn't be a servant of Christ.

  11. 1.11

ϯⲧⲁⲙⲟ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲛⲁⲥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲉⲡⲓⲉⲩⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲓⲟⲛ ⲫⲏ ⲉⲧⲁⲩϩⲓϣⲉⲛⲛⲟⲩϥⲓ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲧϫⲉⲛⲟⲩⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ .

But I make known to you, brothers, concerning the Good News which was preached by me, that it is not according to man.

  12. 1.12

ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲉⲧⲁⲓϭⲓⲧϥ ⲛⲧⲉⲛⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲁⲛ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲛⲉⲧⲁⲩϯⲥⲃⲱ ⲛⲏⲓ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲁⲛ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩϭⲱⲣⲡ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲧⲉⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ⲡⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ .

For neither did I receive it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came to me through revelation of Jesus Christ.

  13. 1.13

ⲁⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲡⲁϫⲓⲛⲙⲟϣⲓ ⲙⲡⲓⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⲛϩⲣⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛϯⲙⲉⲧⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ ϫⲉⲛϩⲣⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛⲟⲩⲙⲉⲧϩⲟⲩⲟ ⲛⲁⲓϭⲟϫⲓ ⲛⲥⲁϯⲉⲕⲕⲗⲏ ⲥⲓⲁ ⲛⲧⲉⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁⲓϣⲱϥ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ .

For you have heard of my way of living in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the assembly of God, and ravaged it.

  14. 1.14

ⲛⲁⲓⲉⲣⲡⲣⲟⲕⲟⲡⲧⲓⲛ ϧⲉⲛϯⲙⲉⲧⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ ⲉϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲙⲏϣ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲁⲙⲁⲓⲏ ϧⲉⲛⲡⲁⲅⲉⲛⲟⲥ ⲉⲓⲟⲓ ⲛⲣⲉϥⲭⲟϩ ⲛϩⲟⲩⲟ ⲉⲛⲏ ⲉⲧⲁ ⲛⲁⲓⲟϯ ⲧⲏⲓⲧⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲟⲧ .

I advanced in the Jews' religion beyond many of my own age among my countrymen, being more exceedingly zealous for the traditions of my fathers.

  15. 1.15

ϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲁϥϯⲙⲁϯ ⲛϫⲉⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲫⲏ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲫⲟⲣϫⲧ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲧⲛⲉϫⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲁⲙⲁⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲑⲁϩⲙⲉⲧ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛⲡⲉϥϩⲙⲟⲧ

But when it was the good pleasure of God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me through his grace,

  16. 1.16

ⲉϭⲱⲣⲡ ⲙⲡⲉϥϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϧⲏⲧ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲛⲧⲁϩⲓϣⲉⲛⲛⲟⲩϥⲓ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ϧⲉⲛⲛⲓⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ ⲥⲁⲧⲟⲧ ⲙⲡⲓⲟⲩⲁϩⲧ ⲛⲥⲁⲥⲁⲣⲝ ϩⲓⲥⲛⲟϥ .

to reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I didn't immediately confer with flesh and blood,

  17. 1.17

ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲙⲡⲓϣⲉ ⲉϩⲣⲏⲓ ⲉⲓⲉⲣⲟⲥⲁⲗⲏⲙ ϣⲁⲛⲓⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲉⲧϧⲁϫⲱⲓ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲁⲓϣⲉ ⲛⲏⲓ ⲉⲧⲁⲣⲁⲃⲓⲁ ⲡⲁⲗⲓⲛ ⲟⲛ ⲁⲓⲕⲟⲧⲧ ⲉⲇⲁⲙⲁⲥⲕⲟⲥ .

nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me, but I went away into Arabia. Then I returned to Damascus.

  18. 1.18

ⲓⲧⲁ ⲙⲉⲛⲉⲛⲥⲁⲅⲛⲣⲟⲙⲡⲓ ⲁⲓϣⲉ ⲛⲏⲓ ⲉϩⲣⲏⲓ ⲉⲓⲉⲣⲟⲥⲁⲗⲏⲙ ⲉⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲕⲏⲫⲁ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲓⲟϩⲓ ϧⲁⲧⲟⲧϥ ⲙⲓⲉ ⲛⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ .

Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to visit Peter, and stayed with him fifteen days.

  19. 1.19

ⲕⲉⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲛⲓⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲙⲡⲓⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲉⲃⲏⲗ ⲉⲓⲁⲕⲱⲃⲟⲥ ⲡⲥⲟⲛ ⲙⲡϭⲟⲓⲥ .

But of the other apostles I saw no one, except James, the Lord's brother.

  20. 1.20

ⲛⲏ ⲇⲉ ⲉϯⲥϧⲁⲓ ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲓⲥ ϩⲏⲡⲡⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲙⲑⲟ ⲙⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ϫⲉⲛϯϫⲉⲙⲉⲑⲛⲟⲩϫ ⲁⲛ .

Now about the things which I write to you, behold, before God, I'm not lying.

  21. 1.21

ⲙⲉⲛⲉⲛⲥⲁⲛⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲓⲓ ⲉⲛⲓⲥⲁ ⲛⲧⲉϯⲥⲩⲣⲓⲁ ⲛⲉⲙϯⲕⲩⲗⲓⲕⲓⲁ .

Then I came to the regions of Syria and Cilicia.

  22. 1.22

ⲛⲁⲩⲥⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲓ ⲡⲉ ϧⲉⲛⲡⲁϩⲟ ⲛϫⲉⲛⲓⲉⲕⲕⲗⲏⲥⲓⲁ ⲛⲧⲉϯⲓⲟⲩⲇⲉⲁ ⲛⲏ ⲉⲧϧⲉⲛⲡⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ .

I was still unknown by face to the assemblies of Judea which were in Christ,

  23. 1.23

ⲙⲟⲛⲟⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉϣⲁⲩⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲡⲉ ϫⲉⲫⲏ ⲉⲛⲁϥϭⲟϫⲓ ⲛⲥⲱⲛ ⲙⲡⲓⲥⲏⲟⲩ ϯⲛⲟⲩ ϥϩⲓϣⲉⲛⲛⲟⲩϥⲓ ⲙⲡⲓⲛⲁϩϯ ⲫⲏ ⲉⲛⲁϥϣⲱϥ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲛⲟⲩⲥⲏⲟⲩ .

but they only heard: 'He who once persecuted us now preaches the faith that he once tried to destroy.'

  24. 1.24

ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁⲩϯⲱⲟⲩ ⲙⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲡⲉ ⲛϧⲣⲏⲓ ⲛϧⲏⲧ .

And they glorified God in me.

  25. 2.1

ⲓⲧⲁ ⲙⲉⲛⲉⲛⲥⲁⲓⲇ ⲛⲣⲟⲙⲡⲓ ⲁⲓϣⲉ ⲛⲏⲓ ⲉϩⲣⲏⲓ ⲉⲓⲉⲣⲟⲥⲁⲗⲏⲙ ⲛⲉⲙⲃⲁⲣⲛⲁⲃⲁⲥ ⲁⲓϭⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲡⲓⲕⲉ ⲧⲓⲧⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲙⲏⲓ .

Then after a period of fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, taking Titus also with me.

  26. 2.2

ⲁⲓϣⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲉϩⲣⲏⲓ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲟⲩϭⲱⲣⲡ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲓⲭⲱ ϧⲁⲧⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲙⲡⲓⲉⲩⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲓⲟⲛ ⲉϯϩⲓⲱⲓϣ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ϧⲉⲛⲛⲓⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ ⲥⲁⲡⲥⲁ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲛⲏ ⲉⲑⲙⲉⲩⲓ ϫⲉⲙⲏⲡⲱⲥ ⲁⲓϭⲟϫⲓ ϧⲉⲛⲟⲩϣⲟⲩⲓⲧ ⲓⲉ ⲛⲁⲓϭⲟϫⲓ .

I went up by revelation, and I laid before them the Good News which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately before those who were respected, for fear that I might be running, or had run, in vain.

  27. 2.3

ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲡⲕⲉ ⲧⲓⲧⲟⲥ ⲫⲏ ⲉⲧⲭⲏ ⲛⲉⲙⲏⲓ ⲉⲟⲩⲉⲓⲛⲓⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲙⲡⲟⲩϣⲉⲣⲁⲛⲁⲅⲕⲁⲍⲓⲛ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲉⲥⲟⲩⲃⲏⲧϥ

But not even Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised.

  28. 2.4

ⲉⲑⲃⲉⲛⲓⲥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲛⲟⲩϫ ⲛⲏ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲓ ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ⲉϫⲉⲣ ⲧⲉⲛⲙⲉⲧⲣⲉⲙϩⲉ ⲑⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲉⲛⲧⲁⲛ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ϧⲉⲛⲡⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲛⲥⲉⲁⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⲙⲃⲱⲕ

    This was because of the false brothers secretly brought in, who stole in to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage;

  29. 2.5

ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲉⲙⲡⲉⲛⲟϩⲓ ϧⲉⲛⲡⲟⲩϭⲛⲉ ϫⲱϥ ⲡⲣⲟⲥ ⲟⲩⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ϯⲙⲉⲑⲙⲏⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲓⲉⲩⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲓⲟⲛ ⲛⲧⲉⲥϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲉⲥⲥⲙⲟⲛⲧ ϩⲁⲣⲱⲧⲉⲛ .

to whom we gave no place in the way of subjection, not for an hour, that the truth of the Good News might continue with you.

  30. 2.6

ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲇⲉ ϧⲉⲛⲛⲏ ⲉⲑⲙⲉⲩⲓ ϫⲉⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲙⲡⲓⲣⲏϯ ⲉⲛⲁⲩⲟⲓ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲛⲟⲩⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⲛϥϣⲉⲃⲓⲏⲟⲩⲧ ⲛⲧⲟⲧⲁⲛ ⲛϩⲗⲓ ⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲙⲡⲁϥϭⲓ ϩⲟ ⲛⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲛⲏ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲑⲙⲉⲩⲓ ϫⲉⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲟⲩⲁϩ ϩⲗⲓ ⲉⲣⲟⲓ .

But from those who were reputed to be important (whatever they were, it makes no difference to me; God doesn't show partiality to man)--they, I say, who were respected imparted nothing to me,

  31. 2.7

ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲡⲉⲧⲟⲩⲃⲏϥ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉⲁⲩⲧⲉⲛϩⲟⲩⲧ ⲉⲡⲓⲉⲩⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲓⲟⲛ ⲛⲧⲉϯⲙⲉⲧⲁⲧⲥⲉⲃⲓ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲧⲉⲛϩⲟⲩⲧϥ ⲉⲫⲁ ⲡⲓⲥⲉⲃⲓ .

but to the contrary, when they saw that I had been entrusted with the Good News for the uncircumcision, even as Peter with the Good News for the circumcision

  32. 2.8

ⲫⲏ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲉⲣϩⲱⲃ ϧⲉⲛⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ⲉⲩⲙⲉⲧⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲥⲉⲃⲓ ⲁϥⲉⲣϩⲱⲃ ⲛϧⲏⲧ ϩⲱ ⲉⲛⲓⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ .

    (for he who appointed Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision appointed me also to the Gentiles);

  33. 2.9

ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲉⲙⲓ ⲉⲡⲓϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲉⲧⲧⲟⲓ ⲛⲏⲓ ⲛϫⲉⲓⲁⲕⲱⲃⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲙⲕⲏⲫⲁⲥ ⲛⲉⲙⲓⲱⲁⲛⲛⲏⲥ ⲛⲏ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲙⲉⲩⲓ ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉϩⲁⲛⲥⲧⲩⲗⲗⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲁⲩϯ ⲇⲉⲝⲓⲁ ⲛⲏⲓ ⲛⲉⲙⲃⲁⲣⲛⲁⲃⲁⲥ ⲉⲩⲙⲉⲧϣⲫⲏ ⲣϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲙⲉⲛ ⲉⲛⲓⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ ⲛⲑⲱⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲡⲓⲥⲉⲃⲓ .

and when they perceived the grace that was given to me, James and Cephas and John, they who were reputed to be pillars, gave to me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, that we should go to the Gentiles, and they to the circumcision.

  34. 2.10

ⲙⲟⲛⲟⲛ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲛⲧⲉⲛϥⲓⲣⲱⲟⲩϣ ⲛⲛⲓϩⲏⲕⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲁⲓⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ⲙⲙⲟⲓ ⲉⲁⲓϥ .

They only asked us to remember the poor--which very thing I was also zealous to do.

  35. 2.11

ⲉⲧⲁϥⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ⲛϫⲉⲕⲏⲫⲁⲥ ⲉⲧⲁⲛⲧⲓⲟⲭ ⲓⲁ ⲁⲓϯ ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ⲉϩⲣⲁϥ ⲛϩⲟ ⲟⲩⲃⲉ ϩⲟ ϫⲉⲛⲉⲁⲩⲉⲣⲕⲁⲧⲁⲅⲓⲛⲱⲥⲕⲓⲛ ⲡⲉ .

But when Peter came to Antioch, I resisted him to his face, because he stood condemned.

  36. 2.12

ⲉⲙⲡⲁⲧⲉ ϩⲗⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲓⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲁⲓⲁⲕⲱⲃⲟⲥ ⲛⲉϣⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲙ ⲡⲉ ⲛⲉⲙⲛⲓⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥϩⲉⲛϥ ⲛⲁϥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲫⲟⲣϫϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉϥⲉⲣϩⲟϯ ϧⲁⲧϩⲏ ⲛⲛⲓⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲡⲥⲉⲃⲓ .

For before some people came from James, he ate with the Gentiles. But when they came, he drew back and separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision.

  37. 2.13

ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩⲉⲣⲙⲉⲧϣⲟⲃⲓ ⲛⲉⲙⲁϥ ⲛϫⲉⲡⲥⲱϫⲡ ⲛⲛⲓⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ ϩⲱⲥⲧⲉ ⲡⲕⲉⲃⲁⲣⲛⲁⲃⲁⲥ ⲁϥϣⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ϧⲉⲛⲧⲟⲩⲙⲉⲧϣⲟⲃⲓ .

And the rest of the Jews joined him in his hypocrisy; so that even Barnabas was carried away with their hypocrisy.

  38. 2.14

ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉⲧⲁⲓⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉⲥⲉⲟϩⲓ ⲉⲣⲁⲧⲟⲩⲁⲛ ϧⲉⲛϯⲙⲉⲑⲙⲏⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲓⲉⲩⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲓⲟⲛ ⲡⲉϫⲏ ⲓⲛⲕⲏⲫⲁⲥ ⲙⲡⲉⲙⲑⲟ ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ϫⲉⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲛⲑⲟⲕ ⲛⲑⲟⲕ ⲟⲩⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ ⲕⲟⲛϧ ⲙⲙⲉⲧⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲙⲙⲉⲧⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲱⲥ ⲉⲕⲉⲣⲁⲛⲁⲅⲕⲁⲍⲓⲛ ⲛⲛⲓⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ ⲉⲉⲣⲙⲉⲧⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ .

But when I saw that they didn't walk uprightly according to the truth of the Good News, I said to Peter before them all, 'If you, being a Jew, live as the Gentiles do, and not as the Jews do, why do you compel the Gentiles to live as the Jews do?

  39. 2.15

ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲫⲩⲥⲓ ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ϩⲁⲛⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲛⲓⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲣⲉϥⲉⲣⲛⲟⲃⲓ .

'We, being Jews by nature, and not Gentile sinners,

  40. 2.16

ⲉⲛⲉⲙⲓ ϫⲉⲥⲉⲛⲁⲑⲙⲁⲓⲉ ⲡⲓⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲛⲓϩⲃⲏⲟⲩⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲓⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲓⲙⲏϯ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲫⲛⲁϩϯ ⲛⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ⲡⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ϩⲱⲛ ⲁⲛⲛⲁϩϯ ⲉⲡⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲛⲧⲉⲛⲙⲁⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲫⲛⲁϩϯ ⲙⲡⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲛⲓϩⲃⲏⲟⲩⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲓⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲛⲓϩⲃⲏⲟⲩⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲓⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲑⲙⲁⲓⲉ ⲥⲁⲣⲝ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲁⲛ .

yet knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, even we believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ, and not by the works of the law, because no flesh will be justified by the works of the law.

  41. 2.17

ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲛⲕⲱϯ ⲛⲥⲁⲙⲁⲓ ϧⲉⲛⲡⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ⲁⲩϫⲉⲙⲉⲛ ϩⲱⲛ ⲉⲛⲟⲓ ⲛⲣⲉϥⲉⲣⲛⲟⲃⲓ ϩⲁⲣⲁ ⲡⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ⲟⲩⲇⲓⲁⲕⲱⲛ ⲛⲧⲉⲫⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲡⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲥϣⲱⲡⲓ .

But if, while we sought to be justified in Christ, we ourselves also were found sinners, is Christ a servant of sin? Certainly not!

  42. 2.18

ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲏ ⲉⲧⲁⲓⲃⲟⲗⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲟⲛ ⲉϯⲕⲱⲧ ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ ϯⲉⲣⲥⲩⲛⲓⲥⲧⲁⲛⲓⲛ ⲙⲙⲟⲓ ⲙⲡⲁⲣⲁⲃⲁⲧⲏⲥ .

For if I build up again those things which I destroyed, I prove myself a law-breaker.

  43. 2.19

ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲁⲓⲙⲟⲩ ⲙⲡⲓⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲛⲧⲁⲱⲛϧ ⲛⲉⲙⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲁⲩⲁϣⲧ ⲛⲉⲙⲡⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ .

For I, through the law, died to the law, that I might live to God.

  44. 2.20

ϯⲟⲛϧ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲁⲛ ϫⲉϥⲟⲛϧ ⲇⲉ ⲛϧⲏⲧ ⲛϫⲉⲡⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ⲫⲏ ⲇⲉ ⲉϯⲟⲛϧ ⲛϧⲏⲧϥ ϯⲛⲟⲩ ϧⲉⲛⲧⲥⲁⲣⲝ ⲁⲓⲱⲛϧ ϧⲉⲛⲡⲓⲛⲁϩϯ ⲛⲧⲉⲡϣⲏ ⲣⲓ ⲙⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲙⲉⲛⲣⲓⲧ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲧⲏ ⲓϥ ⲉϩⲣⲏⲓ ⲉϫⲱⲓ .

I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I that live, but Christ living in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me.

  45. 2.21

ⲛϯⲛⲁϣⲉϣ ⲡⲓϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲛⲧⲉⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲁⲛ ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲫⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲡⲉ ϯⲙⲉⲑⲙⲏ ⲓϩⲁⲣⲁ ⲡⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ⲁϥⲙⲟⲩ ⲛϫⲓⲛϫⲏ .

I don't make void the grace of God. For if righteousness is through the law, then Christ died for nothing!'

  46. 3.1

ⲱⲛⲓⲁⲛⲟⲏⲧⲟⲥ ⲛⲅⲁⲗⲁⲧⲏⲥ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲡⲉⲧⲁϥⲉⲣⲃⲁⲥⲕⲁⲛⲟⲥ ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲛⲏ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲉⲣϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲛⲥϧⲉ ⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ⲡⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ⲛⲁϩⲣⲉⲛ ⲛⲟⲩⲃⲁⲗ ⲉⲁⲩⲁϣϥ .

Foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you not to obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was openly set forth among you as crucified?

  47. 3.2

ⲫⲁⲓ ⲙⲙⲁⲩⲁⲧϥ ⲉϯⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲉⲉⲙⲓ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲛⲧⲉⲛⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲁⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛϭⲓ ⲙⲡⲓⲡⲛⲉⲩⲙⲁⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲛⲓϩⲃⲏⲟⲩⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲓⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ϣⲁⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲡⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲛⲧⲉⲫⲛⲁϩϯ .

I just want to learn this from you. Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith?

  48. 3.3

ⲡⲁⲓⲣⲏϯ ⲛⲑⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϩⲁⲛⲁⲧϩⲏⲧ ⲉⲁⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲉⲣϩⲏ ⲧⲥ ϧⲉⲛⲡⲓⲡⲛⲉⲩⲙⲁϯⲛⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛϫⲱⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲧⲥⲁⲣⲝ .

Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now completed in the flesh?

  49. 3.4

ⲁⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛϣⲉⲡ ⲟⲩⲙⲏϣ ⲛϧⲓⲥⲓ ϩⲓⲕⲏ ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲇⲉ ϩⲓⲕⲏ

Did you suffer so many things in vain, if it is indeed in vain?

  50. 3.5

ⲫⲏ ⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲧⲥⲁϩⲛⲓ ⲙⲡⲓⲡⲛⲉⲩⲙⲁⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲉⲣϩⲱⲃ ⲉϩⲁⲛϫⲟⲙ ϧⲉⲛⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲛⲓϩⲃⲏⲟⲩⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲓⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲡⲉ ϣⲁⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲡⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲓⲛⲁϩϯ .

He therefore who supplies the Spirit to you, and works miracles among you, does he do it by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith?

  51. 3.6

ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲛⲁⲃⲣⲁⲁⲙ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲛⲁϩϯ ⲉⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲁⲩⲟⲡⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ⲉⲩⲙⲉⲑⲙⲏⲓ .

Even as Abraham 'believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness.'

  52. 3.7

ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲉⲙⲓ ϩⲁⲣⲁ ϫⲉⲛⲓⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲫⲛⲁϩϯ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲛⲉⲛⲓϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲁⲃⲣⲁⲁⲙ .

Know therefore that those who are of faith, the same are children of Abraham.

  53. 3.8

ⲉⲧⲁⲥⲉⲣϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲛⲁⲩ ⲛϫⲉϯⲅⲣⲁⲫⲏ ϫⲉⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲫⲛⲁϩϯ ⲉⲣⲉⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲛⲁⲑⲙⲁⲓⲉ ⲛⲓⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ ⲁⲥⲉⲣϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲛϩⲓϣⲉⲛⲛⲟⲩϥⲓ ⲛⲁⲃⲣⲁⲁⲙ ϫⲉⲉⲩⲉϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲉⲩⲥⲙⲁⲣⲱⲟⲩⲧ ⲛϧⲣⲏⲓ ⲛϧⲏⲧⲕ ⲛϫⲉⲛⲓⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ .

The Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the Good News beforehand to Abraham, saying, 'In you all the nations will be blessed.'

  54. 3.9

ϩⲱⲥⲧⲉ ⲛⲓⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲫⲛⲁϩϯ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲥⲙⲟⲩ ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙⲡⲓⲡⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ⲁⲃⲣⲁⲁⲙ .

So then, those who are of faith are blessed with the faithful Abraham.

  55. 3.10

ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉⲧϣⲟⲡ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲛⲓϩⲃⲏⲟⲩⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲓⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲥⲉⲭⲏ ϧⲁⲡⲥⲁϩⲟⲩⲓ ⲥⲥϧⲏⲟⲩⲧ ⲅⲁⲣ ϫⲉϥⲥϩⲟⲩⲟⲣⲧ ⲛϫⲉⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉⲧⲉⲛϥⲛⲁⲟϩⲓ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲛⲏ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲥϧⲏ ⲟⲩⲧ ϩⲓⲡϫⲱⲙ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲁⲓⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲉⲡⲁⲓⲧⲟⲩ .

For as many as are of the works of the law are under a curse. For it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who doesn't continue in all things that are written in the book of the law, to do them.'

  56. 3.11

ϫⲉⲛϩⲣⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛⲛⲓϩⲃⲏⲟⲩⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲓⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ϩⲗⲓ ⲛⲁⲙⲁⲓ ϧⲁⲧⲉⲛⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ϥⲟⲩⲟⲛϩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϫⲉⲡⲓⲑⲙⲏⲓ ⲁϥⲛⲁⲱⲛϧ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲫⲛⲁϩϯ .

Now that no man is justified by the law before God is evident, for, 'The righteous will live by faith.'

  57. 3.12

ⲡⲓⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲡⲓⲛⲁϩϯ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲫⲏ ⲉⲑⲛⲁⲁⲓⲧⲟⲩ ⲉϥⲉⲱⲛϧ ⲛϧⲣⲏⲓ ⲛϧⲏⲧⲟⲩ .

The law is not of faith, but, 'The man who does them will live by them.'

  58. 3.13

ⲡⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ⲁϥϣⲟⲡⲧⲉⲛ ϩⲁⲡⲥⲁϩⲟⲩⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲓⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲉⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲛⲟⲩⲥⲁϩⲟⲩⲓ ⲉϩⲣⲏⲓ ⲉϫⲱⲛ ⲥⲥϧⲏⲟⲩⲧ ⲅⲁⲣ ϫⲉϥⲥϩⲟⲩⲟⲣⲧ ⲛϫⲉⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉⲧⲁϣⲓ ⲉⲡϣⲉ .

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree,'

  59. 3.14

ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲛⲧⲉϥϣⲱⲡⲓ ϧⲉⲛⲛⲓⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ ⲛϫⲉⲡⲥⲙⲟⲩ ⲛⲁⲃⲣⲁⲁⲙ ϧⲉⲛⲡⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲛⲧⲉⲛϭⲓ ⲙⲡⲓⲱϣ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲓⲡⲛⲉⲩⲙⲁⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛⲫⲛⲁϩϯ .

that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Christ Jesus; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

  60. 3.15

ⲛⲁⲥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲁⲓϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲟⲙⲱⲥ ⲟⲩⲇⲓⲁⲑⲏⲕⲏ ⲛⲧⲉⲟⲩⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲁⲩϣⲁⲛⲧⲁϫⲣⲟⲥ ⲙⲡⲁⲣⲉ ϩⲗⲓ ϣⲟϣϥⲥ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲙⲡⲁⲩⲟⲩⲁϩⲉⲙ ⲑⲁϣⲥ .

Brothers, speaking of human terms, though it is only a man's covenant, yet when it has been confirmed, no one makes it void, or adds to it.

  61. 3.16

ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲱϣ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁⲃⲣⲁⲁⲙ ⲛϩⲁⲛⲉⲡⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲓⲟⲛ ⲛⲉⲙⲡⲉϥϫⲣⲟϫ ⲛⲁϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲁⲛ ϫⲉⲛⲉⲙⲛⲉϥϫⲣⲟϫ ϩⲱⲥ ⲉϫⲉⲛⲟⲩⲙⲏϣ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ϩⲱⲥ ⲉϫⲉⲛⲟⲩⲁⲓ ϫⲉⲛⲉⲙⲡⲉⲕϫⲣⲟϫ ⲉⲧⲉⲡⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ⲡⲉ .

Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He doesn't say, 'To seeds,' as of many, but as of one, 'To your seed,' which is Christ.

  62. 3.17

ⲫⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ϯϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ϫⲉⲟⲩⲇⲓⲁⲑⲏ ⲕⲏ ⲉⲁⲩⲉⲣϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲛⲧⲁϫⲣⲟⲥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲫⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲉⲧⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲙⲉⲛⲉⲛⲥⲁⲩⲗ ⲛⲣⲟⲙⲡⲓ ⲛϥⲃⲱⲗ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲑⲣⲉϥⲕⲱⲣϥ ⲙⲡⲓⲱϣ .

Now I say this. A covenant confirmed beforehand by God in Christ, the law, which came four hundred thirty years after, does not annul, so as to make the promise of no effect.

  63. 3.18

ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲫⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲧⲉ ϯⲕⲗⲏⲣⲟⲛⲟⲙⲓⲁ ⲓⲉ ⲉⲛⲟⲩⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲁⲛ ϫⲉⲧⲉ ⲉⲧⲁ ⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲣϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲛⲁⲃⲣⲁⲁⲙ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩⲱϣ .

For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no more of promise; but God has granted it to Abraham by promise.

  64. 3.19

ⲟⲩ ϫⲉⲡⲉ ⲫⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲁⲩⲭⲁϥ ⲉⲑⲃⲉⲛⲓⲡⲁⲣⲁⲃⲁⲥⲓⲥ ϣⲁⲧⲉϥⲓ ⲛϫⲉⲡⲓϫⲣⲟϫ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲱϣ ⲛⲁϥ ⲉⲁⲩⲑⲁϣϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛϩⲁⲛⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ϧⲉⲛⲧϫⲓϫ ⲛⲟⲩⲙⲉⲥⲓⲧⲏⲥ .

What then is the law? It was added because of transgressions, until the seed should come to whom the promise has been made. It was ordained through angels by the hand of a mediator.

  65. 3.20

ⲡⲓⲙⲉⲥⲓⲧⲏⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲫⲁ ⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲇⲉ ⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ .

Now a mediator is not between one, but God is one.

  66. 3.21

ⲫⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲟⲩⲛ ⲁϥϯ ⲟⲩⲃⲉ ⲛⲓⲱϣ ⲛⲧⲉⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲛⲛⲉⲥϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲉⲛⲉⲁⲩϯ ⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲟⲩⲟⲛ ϣϫⲟⲙ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲉⲧⲁⲛϧⲟ ⲟⲛⲧⲱⲥ ⲛⲉϯⲙⲉⲑⲙⲏⲓ ⲟⲩⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲡⲓⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲧⲉ .

Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could make alive, most certainly righteousness would have been of the law.

  67. 3.22

ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ϯⲅⲣⲁⲫⲏ ⲁⲥϣⲑⲁⲙ ⲉϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ϧⲉⲛⲫⲛⲟⲃⲓ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲡⲓⲱϣ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛⲫⲛⲁϩϯ ⲛⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ⲡⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ⲛⲥⲉⲧⲏⲓϥ ⲛⲛⲏ ⲉⲑⲛⲁϩϯ .

But the Scriptures imprisoned all things under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.

  68. 3.23

ⲉⲙⲡⲁⲧⲉϥⲓ ⲛϫⲉⲡⲓⲛⲁϩϯ ⲛⲁⲩⲁⲣⲉϩ ⲉⲣⲟⲛ ⲡⲉ ϧⲁⲡⲓⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲉⲩⲙⲁϣⲑⲁⲙ ⲉⲣⲟⲛ ϣⲁⲡⲓⲛⲁϩϯ ⲉⲑⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲛϭⲱⲣⲡ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ .

But before faith came, we were kept in custody under the law, confined for the faith which should afterwards be revealed.

  69. 3.24

ϩⲱⲥⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲁϥⲉⲣϭⲁⲩⲙⲱⲓⲧ ⲛⲁⲛ ⲉⲡⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲛⲧⲉⲛⲙⲁⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲫⲛⲁϩϯ .

So that the law has become our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

  70. 3.25

ⲉⲧⲁϥⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲛϫⲉⲡⲓⲛⲁϩϯ ⲧⲉⲛⲭⲏ ⲁⲛ ϫⲉϧⲁⲟⲩϭⲁⲩⲙⲱⲓⲧ .

But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.

  71. 3.26

ⲛⲑⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲛⲑⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϩⲁⲛϣⲏ ⲣⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛⲫⲛⲁϩϯ ϧⲉⲛⲡⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ .

For you are all children of God, through faith in Christ Jesus.

  72. 3.27

ⲛⲑⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ϧⲁⲛⲏ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲟⲙⲥⲟⲩ ϧⲉⲛⲡⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ⲁⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛϯ ⲙⲡⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ϩⲓⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ .

For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

  73. 3.28

ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲟⲩⲉⲓⲛⲓⲛ ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⲃⲱⲕ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲣⲉⲙϩⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ϩⲱⲟⲩⲧ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲥϩⲓⲙⲓ ⲛⲑⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲛⲑⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲁⲓ ϧⲉⲛⲡⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ .

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

  74. 3.29

ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲛⲑⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲛⲁⲡⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ϩⲁⲣⲁ ⲛⲑⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲛⲁⲡϫⲣⲟϫ ⲛⲁⲃⲣⲁⲁⲙ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲡⲓⲱϣ ⲛⲑⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϩⲁⲛⲕⲗⲏⲣⲟⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ .

If you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed and heirs according to promise.

  75. 4.1

ϯϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉⲉⲫⲟⲥⲟⲛ ⲭⲣⲟⲛⲟⲛ ⲉⲡⲓⲕⲗⲏ ⲣⲟⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲟⲩⲕⲟⲩϫⲓ ⲛⲁⲗⲟⲩ ⲡⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ϩⲗⲓ ⲛϣⲓⲃϯ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲛⲉⲙⲟⲩⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϥⲟⲓ ⲙϭⲟⲓⲥ ⲉⲉⲛⲭⲁⲓ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ .

    But I say that so long as the heir is a child, he is no different from a bondservant, though he is lord of all;

  76. 4.2

ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲁϥⲭⲏ ϧⲁϩⲁⲛⲉⲡⲓⲧⲣⲟⲡⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲙϩⲁⲛⲟⲓⲕⲟⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ϣⲁϯⲛⲉⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲉϥⲉⲓⲱⲧ

but is under guardians and stewards until the day appointed by the father.

  77. 4.3

ⲡⲁⲓⲣⲏϯ ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ϩⲱⲛ ϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲉⲛⲟⲓ ⲛⲁⲗⲟⲩ ⲛⲁⲛⲭⲏ ϧⲁⲛⲓⲥⲧⲟⲓⲭⲓⲟⲛ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲓⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⲉⲛⲟⲓ ⲙⲃⲱⲕ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ .

So we also, when we were children, were held in bondage under the elemental principles of the world.

  78. 4.4

ϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲓ ⲛϫⲉⲫⲙⲟϩ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲓⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⲁⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲟⲩⲱⲣⲡ ⲙⲡⲉϥϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲉⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲓ ϧⲁⲟⲩⲥϩⲓⲙⲓ ⲉⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲓ ϧⲁⲡⲓⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ .

But when the fullness of the time came, God sent out his Son, born to a woman, born under the law,

  79. 4.5

ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲛⲧⲉϥϣⲏⲡ ⲛⲏ ⲉⲧϧⲁ ⲡⲓⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲛⲧⲉⲛϭⲓ ⲛϯⲙⲉⲧϣⲏⲣⲓ .

that he might redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of children.

  80. 4.6

ⲟⲧⲓ ⲇⲉ ϫⲉⲛⲑⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϩⲁⲛϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲁⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲧⲁⲟⲩⲟ ⲙⲡⲓⲡⲛⲉⲩⲙⲁⲛⲧⲉⲡⲉϥϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲉϧⲣⲏⲓ ⲉⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛϩⲏ ⲧⲉϥⲱϣ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϫⲉⲁⲃⲃⲁ ⲫⲓⲱⲧ .

And because you are children, God sent out the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, 'Abba, Father!'

  81. 4.7

ϩⲱⲥⲧⲉ ⲛⲑⲟⲕ ⲟⲩⲃⲱⲕ ⲁⲛ ϫⲉⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲟⲩϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲟⲩϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲓⲉ ⲟⲩⲕⲗⲏⲣⲟⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲟⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ .

So you are no longer a bondservant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

  82. 4.8

ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲙⲡⲓⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⲙⲉⲛ ⲉⲧⲉⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲥⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲙⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲁⲛ ⲁⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲉⲣⲃⲱⲕ ⲛⲛⲏ ⲫⲩⲥⲓ ⲉⲧⲉϩⲁⲛⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲉ .

However at that time, not knowing God, you were in bondage to those who by nature are not gods.

  83. 4.9

ϯⲛⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲥⲟⲩⲉⲛ ⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲙⲁⲗⲗⲟⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲥⲟⲩⲉⲛ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⲡⲱⲥ ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲕⲱϯ ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲟⲛ ⲉϧⲣⲏⲓ ⲉⲛⲓϫⲱⲃ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛϩⲏ ⲕⲓ ⲛⲥⲧⲟⲓⲭⲓⲟⲛ ⲛⲏ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲉⲉⲣⲃⲱⲕ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲕⲉⲥⲟⲡ .

But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, why do you turn back again to the weak and miserable elemental principles, to which you desire to be in bondage all over again?

  84. 4.10

ⲉⲁⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛϯϩⲑⲏⲧⲉⲛ ⲉϩⲁⲛⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙϩⲁⲛⲁⲃⲏⲧ ⲛⲉⲙϩⲁⲛⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙϩⲁⲛⲣⲟⲙⲡⲓ .

You observe days, months, seasons, and years.

I am afraid for you, that I might have wasted my labor for you.

  86. 4.12

I beg you, brothers, become as I am, for I also have become as you are. You did me no wrong,

ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲉⲙⲓ ⲇⲉ ϫⲉⲉⲑⲃⲉⲟⲩϣⲱⲛⲓ ⲛⲧⲉϯⲥⲁⲣⲝ ⲁⲓϩⲓϣⲉⲛⲛⲟⲩϥⲓ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲛϣⲟⲣⲡ .

but you know that because of weakness of the flesh I preached the Good News to you the first time.

  88. 4.14

ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛⲡⲓⲣⲁⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⲉⲧⲭⲏ ϧⲉⲛⲧⲁⲥⲁⲣⲝ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛϣⲟϣϥ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛϩⲓⲑⲁϥ ⲛⲥⲱϥ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲁⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛϣⲟⲡϥ ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲙⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲛⲟⲩⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⲛⲧⲉⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲙⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲙⲡⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ .

That which was a temptation to you in my flesh, you didn't despise nor reject; but you received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus.

  89. 4.15

ⲁϥⲑⲱⲛ ⲟⲩⲛ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛⲙⲁⲕⲁⲣⲓⲥⲙⲟⲥ ϯⲉⲣⲙⲉⲑⲣⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϫⲉⲉⲛⲉ ⲟⲩⲟⲛϣϫⲟⲙ ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲉⲫⲉⲣⲕ ⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛⲃⲁⲗ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲁⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁⲧⲏⲓⲧⲟⲩ ⲛⲏⲓ ⲡⲉ .

What was the blessing you enjoyed? For I testify to you that, if possible, you would have plucked out your eyes and given them to me.

  90. 4.16

ϩⲱⲥⲧⲉ ⲁⲓⲉⲣϫⲁϫⲓ ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϫⲉϯⲧⲁⲙⲟ ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲉⲧⲙⲏⲓ .

So then, have I become your enemy by telling you the truth?

  91. 4.17

They zealously seek you in no good way. No, they desire to alienate you, that you may seek them.

  92. 4.18

But it is always good to be zealous in a good cause, and not only when I am present with you.

  93. 4.19

ⲛⲁϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉϯ ϯⲛⲁⲕϩⲓ ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲕⲉⲥⲟⲡ ϣⲁⲧⲉ ⲡⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ϭⲓⲙⲟⲣⲫⲏ ϧⲉⲛⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ .

My little children, of whom I am again in travail until Christ is formed in you--

  94. 4.20

ⲛⲁⲓⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲓ ϩⲁⲣⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϯⲛⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉϣⲓⲃϯ ⲛⲧⲁⲥⲙⲏ ϫⲉϯϣⲟⲗϩ ⲛϩⲏⲧ ϧⲉⲛⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ .

but I could wish to be present with you now, and to change my tone, for I am perplexed about you.

  95. 4.21

ⲁϫⲟⲥ ⲟⲩⲛ ⲛⲏⲓ ⲁⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲉϣⲱⲡⲓ ϧⲁⲡⲓⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲥⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲙⲡⲓⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲁⲛ .

Tell me, you that desire to be under the law, don't you listen to the law?

  96. 4.22

ⲥⲥϧⲏⲟⲩⲧ ⲅⲁⲣ ϫⲉⲁⲃⲣⲁⲁⲙ ⲁϥϫⲫⲉ ϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲃⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛϯⲃⲱⲕⲓ ⲛⲉⲙⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛϯⲣⲉⲙϩⲏ .

For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the handmaid, and one by the free woman.

  97. 4.23

ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲡⲓⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲉⲛ ϧⲉⲛϯⲃⲱⲕⲓ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲙⲁⲥϥ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲥⲁⲣⲝ ⲡⲓⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲇⲉ ϧⲉⲛϯⲣⲉⲙϩⲏ ⲟⲩⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲟⲩⲉⲡⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲓⲁ ⲡⲉ .

However, the son by the handmaid was born according to the flesh, but the son by the free woman was born through promise.

  98. 4.24

ⲉⲧⲉⲛⲁⲓ ⲛⲉⲉϣⲁⲩⲉⲣⲁⲗⲗⲏⲅⲟⲣⲓⲛ ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲇⲓⲁⲑⲏⲕⲏ ⲃϯ ⲛⲉⲛⲁⲓ ⲟⲩⲓ ⲙⲉⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲡⲧⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲥⲓⲛⲁ ⲉⲥⲙⲓⲥⲓ ⲉⲩⲙⲉⲧⲃⲱⲕ ⲉⲧⲉⲁⲅⲁⲣ ⲧⲉ .

These things contain an allegory, for these are two covenants. One is from Mount Sinai, bearing children to bondage, which is Hagar.

  99. 4.25

ⲁⲅⲁⲣ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲧⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲥⲓⲛⲁ ⲉϥⲭⲏ ϧⲉⲛⲧⲁⲣⲁⲃⲓⲁ ⲁϥⲟⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲛϣⲫⲏⲣ ⲛϯⲙⲁϯ ⲛⲉⲙⲓⲉⲣⲟⲥⲁⲗⲏⲙ ⲛⲧⲉϯⲛⲟⲩ ⲥⲟⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲙⲃⲱⲕⲓ ⲛⲉⲙⲛⲉⲥϣⲏⲣⲓ .

For this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and answers to the Jerusalem that exists now, for she is in bondage with her children.

  100. 4.26

ⲓⲉⲣⲟⲥⲁⲗⲏⲙ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲙⲡϣⲱⲓ ⲟⲩⲣⲉⲙϩⲏ ⲧⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲙⲁⲩ ⲧⲉ .

But the Jerusalem that is above is free, which is the mother of us all.
