Translation

  1. INCANTATION:
  2. (O) one who dwells in darkness, creation of mankind!
  3. Why did you not cry in the womb of your mother ?
  4. (Is it) because you came out and saw
  5. the rays of sunlight!
  6. You made your nurses cry!
  7. You frightened your wet nurses!
  8. In the eye(s) of your father and mother
  9. you put tears!
  10. Like the peaceful waters in a well,
  11. Like a sleepy buck? born of a gazelle,
  12. Like the ox-driver, the driven cattle
  13. May a daze fall over you!
  14. The incantation is not mine,
  15. It is the incantation of Ea and Asalluḫi,
  16. It is the incantation of Ningirim, mistress of spells!
