Commentary

Obv.1': The spelling e-en-zu for ezzu, "furious" (so Cavigneaux/Al-Rawi 1994, 89) is difficult. A goat seems to pass better in the context of the demon's description, which consists of a list of animal metaphors.

         Obv.5’: Cavigneaux/Al-Rawi 1994 read qá-qá-ad ka-[al-ba-tim] but the last sign before the break is probably /ne/, as in the Lamaštu incantation BM 120022 11: qaqqad(SAG.DU)-sa qaqqad(SAG.DU-ad) ne-e-ši ši-in-na-at imēri(ANŠE) ši-in-[n]a-a-ša and BIN 2, 72: 2: pa-ni lab-ba-tim i-šim-ši dÉn-líl!.
