Commentary

1–4:      Note the correspondence between the enumeration of the colored dogs in this incantation and Enmerkar and the Lord of Aratta 457–459 (ur na-an-gi6-ge ur na-an-babbar-re ur na-an-si4-e ur na-an-dara4-e ur na-an-sig7-sig7-ge ur na-an-gùn-gùn-gú). 1'–3':      If reading is correct, these fragmentary lines may contain a rare allusion in magical literature to the mythical Flood.
