Commentary

10', 12': For the list of diseases see Stol 1993, 11-12 and Wasserman 2007. (Note the š / s alternations: šamānum for samānum, and isātum for išātum). For the sāmānu-disease see Finkel 1998 and Kinnier-Wilson 1994.

11: zuq(q)urān šamê: Not attested hitherto. Each of the parallel texts read differently. YOS 11, 8: 5 has kakkab šamê; JCS 9a: 10 reads ziqqurāt šamê; and JCS 9b: 10 reads ṣé-re-et šamê.

13': <i?>-ta-KU-ul: restoration following Cavigneaux. As for ṣú-ḫa-ra-am i-li-im?-mi? at the end of the line, parallel texts suggest prepositional phrase ("on the shoulders of the nurse", etc.) rather than another verb.
