Commentary
ii' 5': Although not free of orthographical problems, we prefer ina ṭub qa-a-ti-šá “in her pleasant hands” over ina tubqātiša “in her corners” which does not seem to make sense here.
ii' 6': Morphologically, it-tu-ú-a seems to be a pl. m. form. We take it from ittû “sending apparatus of the plow (CAD I/J 312). Plowing, as a metaphor for the masculine role in sexual intercourse is well known in love-and-sex related Akkadian compositions (see Wasserman 2016, 140).
ii' 7'–15': Here, and elsewhere in the corpus in co-location with wild animals (REF.), rēmu is used euphemistically for “vagina”. Note that this is an ‘orphan’ passage, with no known parallels.
