Commentary
General: the syllabic value /ṭer/ is not attested before the MB period.
b3: Reading a-⌈wi?⌉-l[um?] is tentative (see l. b8 where a-wi-lum also appears).
b6–7: Obscure. The first three signs in l. b6 remain unclear even with the photo. Reading ú-qí?-ip? from qiāpum-D, "to serve as a guarantor"? yields little sense. Perhaps better is to read ú-ki?-ip? from ekēpum-D, "to draw near, be in good time". As understood, the passage describes a man acting improperly. The passage is found in CAD L, 8, 2a) which reads, without translation: Ú.MEŠ(?)-ma (gloss: ša-ma-mi-ma) a-na me-si12-im ú-la-ba-ak. Lambert in his editio prniceps: "... he anoints with oil".
b8–15: This passage alludes probably to the epic of Gilgamesh.
b10–11: See CAD T, 432, s.v. tišānu, "mng. unkn", and AHw 1362a. However following Durand 1988b (and with Mayer 1995, 163) tišānu must be here a kind of mountain goat, or antelope, etymologically connected to Heb. דשון .
b12: Reading im!?-ma-ni-iš with AHw 378b, s.v. immāniš, "am Tage", and with Mayer (1995, 163). Still, im!?-ma-ni epra/um(SAḪAR), "counting dust", cannot be entirely ruled out.
b15: For umāmu in this line, see AHw 1412a 1).
