Translation
Obv.
1 Come in, shepherd, Ištar’s lover,
2 Spend the night here, shepherd, Ištar’s lover,
3 At your entering, my father is happy for you,
4 my mother, Ningal, is rejoiced over you.
5 She served you oil in a bowl.
6 At your entering, the bolts rejoice over you,
7 the door itself shall be opened [for you]!
8 You, wooden bolt – what do you know?
9 What do you know? The entrance of my darling!
10 Indeed, I love, I love, oh, lusty one!
11 He freed his dogs ...
12 (saying:) “Let me come in front of Ningal!”
13 After her bride entered in front of Ningal,
14 they divided the sweet cake in the bowl.
15 The illustrious one is worried about the dogs and shepherds.
