Commentary
i 7': Restoring er-[ni-ta-šu] with Westenholz 1997, 82; Haul 2009, 394: er-[ni-ta-ša].
i 8': Both Westenholz 1997, 82 and Haul 2009, 394 take ú-še-pu here and in the following line to mean “resound, to make resound” from the verb šapû (CAD Š/1, 489b s. v. 2; AHw III 1177a s. v. šapû(m) II D). All attestations listed in the dictionaries take rigmu as object, which should then perhaps be restored at least at the beginning of line i 8'.
i 18: Note that CAD T 434 has the line s. v. titennu “a four-pronged pitchfork used for winnowing” without transl. (court. N. Wasserman).
ii 8: The reading tentatively follows Westenholz 1997, 84. Haul 2009, 394 suggests [da-mi na-ki-ri? š]u-pa-li na-aḫ-li li-i[m-lu?-ú?(x) x]x an-ni-a-am, taking šupālī naḫlī as subject to limlû.
ii 10: As Haul 2009, 407 notes, the line remains mostly unclear. Westenholz 1997, 86 suggested ṣé-nu-šu [ú-u]l ṣé<-nu> ra-qu-ti “his flocks are not scrawny flocks(??).” Haul 2009, 407 objects that there should be room for more than one sign between šu and the proposed [u]l, and that the restoration ṣé<-ni> should match the oblique or genitive case of ra-qu-ti. If, however, the line cannot be easily interpreted as a nominal sentence, then neither the restoration after ZI nor the negation is obligatory.
