Commentary

General: Unless noted, the transliteration and translation follow George 2003. Minor divergences are not commented on.

Obv. 1′–2′: anāku in l. 2′ shows that either George’s restoration of l. 1′ or of the end of l. 2′ cannot be correct: a further form of rašû would be needed in one of these lines. Since there doesn’t seem to be space for a form of rašû at the end of l. 2′, the very provisional reading of the complete l. 1′ and of the end of l. 2′ in George 2003 is discarded here.

Obv. 4′–7′: George 2003 assumes a different poetic structure. The direct speech might end with l. 7′.
