86. At-Taariq — The Morning Star

  1. 86:1

    وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلطَّارِقِ

    Waalssamai waalttariqi

    By the heaven and the Morning Star

  2. 86:2

    وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلطَّارِقُ

    Wama adraka ma alttariqu

    Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is

  3. 86:3

    ٱلنَّجۡمُ ٱلثَّاقِبُ

    Alnnajmu alththaqibu

    The piercing Star

  4. 86:4

    إِن كُلُّ نَفۡسࣲ لَّمَّا عَلَيۡهَا حَافِظࣱ‏

    In kullu nafsin lamma AAalayha hafithun

    No human soul but hath a guardian over it

  5. 86:5

    فَلۡيَنظُرِ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ

    Falyanthuri alinsanu mimma khuliqa

    So let man consider from what he is created

  6. 86:6

    خُلِقَ مِن مَّآءࣲ دَافِقࣲ‏

    Khuliqa min main dafiqin

    He is created from a gushing fluid

  7. 86:7

    يَخۡرُجُ مِنۢ بَيۡنِ ٱلصُّلۡبِ وَٱلتَّرَآئِبِ

    Yakhruju min bayni alssulbi waalttaraibi

    That issued from between the loins and ribs

  8. 86:8

    إِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ رَجۡعِهِۦ لَقَادِرࣱ‏

    Innahu AAala rajAAihi laqadirun

    Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life)

  9. 86:9

    يَوۡمَ تُبۡلَى ٱلسَّرَآئِرُ

    Yawma tubla alssarairu

    On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out

  10. 86:10

    فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن قُوَّةࣲ وَلَا نَاصِرࣲ‏

    Fama lahu min quwwatin wala nasirin

    Then will he have no might nor any helper

  11. 86:11

    وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلرَّجۡعِ

    Waalssamai thati alrrajAAi

    By the heaven which giveth the returning rain

  12. 86:12

    وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ ذَاتِ ٱلصَّدۡعِ

    Waalardi thati alssadAAi

    And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants)

  13. 86:13

    إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوۡلࣱ فَصۡلࣱ‏

    Innahu laqawlun faslun

    Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word

  14. 86:14

    وَمَا هُوَ بِٱلۡهَزۡلِ

    Wama huwa bialhazli

    It is no pleasantry

  15. 86:15

    إِنَّهُمۡ يَكِيدُونَ كَيۡدࣰ ا

    Innahum yakeedoona kaydan

    Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad)

  16. 86:16

    وَأَكِيدُ كَيۡدࣰ ا

    Waakeedu kaydan

    And I plot a plot (against them)

  17. 86:17

    فَمَهِّلِ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ أَمۡهِلۡهُمۡ رُوَيۡدَۢا

    Famahhili alkafireena amhilhum ruwaydan

    So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while
