82. Al-Infitaar — The Cleaving

82:1
إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنفَطَرَتۡ
Itha alssamao infatarat
When the heaven is cleft asunder
82:2
وَإِذَا ٱلۡكَوَاكِبُ ٱنتَثَرَتۡ
Waitha alkawakibu intatharat
When the planets are dispersed
82:3
وَإِذَا ٱلۡبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتۡ
Waitha albiharu fujjirat
When the seas are poured forth
82:4
وَإِذَا ٱلۡقُبُورُ بُعۡثِرَتۡ
Waitha alqubooru buAAthirat
And the sepulchres are overturned
82:5
عَلِمَتۡ نَفۡسࣱ مَّا قَدَّمَتۡ وَأَخَّرَتۡ
AAalimat nafsun ma qaddamat waakhkharat
A soul will know what it hath sent before (it) and what left behind
82:6
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ ٱلۡكَرِيمِ
Ya ayyuha alinsanu ma gharraka birabbika alkareemi
O man! What hath made thee careless concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful
82:7
ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّىٰكَ فَعَدَلَكَ
Allathee khalaqaka fasawwaka faAAadalaka
Who created thee, then fashioned, then proportioned thee
82:8
فِيٓ أَيِّ صُورَةࣲ مَّا شَآءَ رَكَّبَكَ
Fee ayyi sooratin ma shaa rakkabaka
Into whatsoever form He will, He casteth thee
82:9
كَلَّا بَلۡ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِٱلدِّينِ
Kalla bal tukaththiboona bialddeeni
Nay, but ye deny the Judgment
82:10
وَإِنَّ عَلَيۡكُمۡ لَحَٰفِظِينَ
Wainna AAalaykum lahafitheena
Lo! there are above you guardians
82:11
كِرَامࣰ ا كَٰتِبِينَ
Kiraman katibeena
Generous and recording
82:12
يَعۡلَمُونَ مَا تَفۡعَلُونَ
YaAAlamoona ma tafAAaloona
Who know (all) that ye do
82:13
إِنَّ ٱلۡأَبۡرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمࣲ‏
Inna alabrara lafee naAAeemin
Lo! the righteous verily will be in delight
82:14
وَإِنَّ ٱلۡفُجَّارَ لَفِي جَحِيمࣲ‏
Wainna alfujjara lafee jaheemin
And lo! the wicked verily will be in hell
82:15
يَصۡلَوۡنَهَا يَوۡمَ ٱلدِّينِ
Yaslawnaha yawma alddeeni
They will burn therein on the Day of Judgment
82:16
وَمَا هُمۡ عَنۡهَا بِغَآئِبِينَ
Wama hum AAanha bighaibeena
And will not be absent thence
82:17
وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا يَوۡمُ ٱلدِّينِ
Wama adraka ma yawmu alddeeni
Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is
82:18
ثُمَّ مَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا يَوۡمُ ٱلدِّينِ
Thumma ma adraka ma yawmu alddeeni
Again, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is
82:19
يَوۡمَ لَا تَمۡلِكُ نَفۡسࣱ لِّنَفۡسࣲ شَيۡـࣰٔ اۖ وَٱلۡأَمۡرُ يَوۡمَئِذࣲ لِّلَّهِ
Yawma la tamliku nafsun linafsin shayan waalamru yawmaithin lillahi
A day on which no soul hath power at all for any (other) soul. The (absolute) command on that day is Allah's
