    ⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲉ ϣⲁⲓⲱⲛⲁⲥ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲛⲁⲙⲁⲑⲉⲓ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ :

    Now the word of the Lord came to Jonas the son of Amathi, saying,

    ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲉ ϣⲁⲓⲱⲛⲁⲥ ⲙⲡⲙⲉϩⲥⲉⲡ ⲥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲁϥ :

    And the word of the Lord came to Jonas the second time, saying,

    ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲉϩⲥⲁϩⲛⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲛⲕⲏⲧⲟⲥ ⲁϥⲱⲙⲕ ⲛⲓⲱⲛⲁⲥ : ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲣⲉⲓⲱⲛⲁ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ ⲛⲡⲕⲏⲧⲟⲥ ⲛϣⲟⲙⲛⲧ ⲛϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲛϣⲟⲙⲧⲉ ⲛⲟⲩϣⲏ :

    Now the Lord had commanded a great whale to swallow up Jonas: and Jonas was in the belly of the whale three days and three nights.

    ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲗⲩⲡⲉⲓ ⲛϭⲓⲓⲱⲛⲁⲥ ϩⲛⲟⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲛⲗⲩⲡⲉⲓ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲙⲕⲁϩ ⲛϩⲏⲧ :

    But Jonas was very deeply grieved, and he was confounded.

    ϫⲉⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲛⲅⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲛⲓⲛⲉⲩⲏ ⲧⲛⲟϭ ⲙⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ ⲛⲅⲕⲏⲣⲩⲥⲥⲉ ⲛⲁⲥ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲡⲕⲏⲣⲩⲅⲙⲁ ⲛϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲓϫⲟⲟϥ ⲉⲣⲟⲕ :

    Rise, go to Nineve, the great city, and preach in it according to the former preaching which I spoke to thee of.

    ⲁϥϣⲗⲏⲗ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉⲱ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲙⲏ ⲛⲛⲁⲓ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲉ ⲛϣⲁϫⲉ ⲉⲧⲓ ⲉⲓϣⲟⲟⲡ ϩⲙⲡⲕⲁϩ : ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲡⲁⲓ ⲁⲓⲣϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲉⲡⲱⲧ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲑⲁⲣⲥⲉⲓⲥ : ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϫⲉⲁⲓⲉⲓⲙⲉ ϫⲉⲛⲧⲕⲟⲩⲛⲁⲏⲧ ⲛⲧⲟⲕ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲕⲟⲩϣⲁⲛϩⲧⲏϥ : ⲛⲧⲕⲟⲩϩⲁⲣϣϩⲏⲧ ⲉⲛⲁϣⲉⲡⲉⲕⲛⲁ : ⲉⲕⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲛϩⲧⲏⲕ ⲉϫⲛⲛⲕⲁⲕⲓⲁ :

    And he prayed to the Lord, and said, O Lord, were not these my words when I was yet in my land? therefore I made haste to flee to Tharsis; because I knew that thou are merciful and compassionate, long-suffering, and abundant in kindness, and repentest of evil.

    ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥϣⲗⲏⲗ ⲛϭⲓⲓⲱⲛⲁ ⲉⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲡⲉϥⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉϥⲛϩⲏⲧϥ ⲙⲡⲕⲏⲧⲟⲥ :

    And Jonas prayed to the Lord his God out of the belly of the whale,

    ⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲛⲅⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲛⲓⲛⲉⲩⲏ ⲧⲛⲟϭ ⲙⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ ⲛⲅⲕⲏⲣⲩⲥⲥⲉ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲥ ϫⲉⲁⲡⲉⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲛⲧⲉⲥⲕⲁⲕⲓⲁ ⲉⲓ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲙⲡⲁⲙⲧⲟ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ :

    Rise, and go to Nineve, the great city, and preach in it; for the cry of its wickedness is come up to me.

    ⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ϭⲉ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ϫⲓⲧⲁⲯⲩⲭⲏ ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲧ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϫⲉⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩⲥ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲙⲟⲩ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲉⲱⲛϩ :

    And now, Lord God, take my life from me; for it is better for me to die than to live.

    ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉⲁⲓϫⲓϣⲕⲁⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛⲧⲁⲑⲗⲓⲯⲓⲥ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲡⲁⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ : ⲁϥⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲣⲟⲓ : ⲁⲓⲱϣ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲓⲛϩⲏⲧϥ ⲛⲁⲙⲛⲧⲉ : ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲕⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲡⲁϩⲣⲟⲟⲩ :

    and said, I cried in my affliction to the Lord my God, and he hearkened to me, even to my cry out of the belly of hell: thou heardest my voice.

    ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛϥ ⲛϭⲓⲓⲱⲛⲁⲥ ⲁϥⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲛⲓⲛⲉⲩⲏ : ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲧϩⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲙⲁϥ : ⲛⲓⲛⲉⲩⲏ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲙ ⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ ⲧⲉ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲉⲥⲛⲁⲣⲟⲩϩⲓⲏ ⲛϣⲟⲙⲛⲧ ⲛϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ :

    And Jonas arose, and went to Nineve, as the Lord had spoken. Now Nineve was an exceeding great city, of about three days' journey.

    ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲛϭⲓⲓⲱⲛⲁⲥ ⲉⲡⲱⲧ ⲉⲑⲁⲣⲥⲉⲓⲥ ⲛⲛⲁϩⲣⲛⲡϩⲟ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ : ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲓⲟⲡⲏ : ⲁϥϭⲛⲟⲩϫⲟⲉⲓ ⲉϥⲛⲁⲥϭⲏⲣ ⲉⲑⲁⲣⲥⲉⲓⲥ ⲁϥϯⲧⲉϥϩⲏⲙⲉ ⲁϥⲧⲁⲗⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ : ⲉⲥϭⲏⲣ ⲛⲙⲙⲁϥ ⲉⲑⲁⲣⲥⲉⲓⲥ ⲛⲛⲁϩⲣⲛⲡϩⲟ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ :

    But Jonas rose up to flee to Tharsis from the presence of the Lord. And he went down to Joppa, and found a ship going to Tharsis: and he paid his fare, and went up into it, to sail with them to Tharsis from the presence of the Lord.

    ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥϫⲱⲛⲧ ⲛϭⲓⲓⲱⲛⲁⲥ ⲉⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲧⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ ⲛϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲁ ⲙⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲕⲏⲣⲩⲥⲥⲉ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉⲉⲧⲓ ϣⲟⲙⲛⲧ ⲛϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲓⲛⲉⲩⲏ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲧⲁⲕⲟⲥ :

    And Jonas began to enter into the city about a day's journey, and he proclaimed, and said, Yet three days, and Nineve shall be overthrown.

  14. Jonah_02:4

    ⲁⲕⲛⲟϫⲧ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲛϣⲓⲕ ⲙⲡϩⲏⲧ ⲛⲧϩⲁⲗⲁⲥⲥⲁ : ⲁⲩⲱ ϩⲉⲛⲓⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲕⲱⲧⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲓ ⲛⲉⲕϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲙⲛⲛⲉⲕϩⲟⲉⲓⲙ ⲁⲩⲉⲓ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉϫⲱⲓ :

    Thou didst cast me into the depths of the heart of the sea, and the floods compassed me: all thy billows and thy waves have passed upon me.

  15. Jonah_01:4

    ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲁϥⲧⲟⲩⲛⲟⲥ ⲟⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲛⲧⲏⲟⲩ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲉⲑⲁⲗⲁⲥⲥⲁ : ⲁⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲛϩⲟⲉⲓⲙ ϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓ ⲁϥⲕⲓⲛⲇⲩⲛⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲧⲁⲕⲟ :

    And the Lord raised up a wind on the sea; and there was a great storm on the sea, and the ship was in danger of being broken.

    ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉϫⲉⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲛⲓⲱⲛⲁ ϫⲉⲉⲛⲉⲁⲕⲙⲕⲁϩ ⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲛⲧⲟⲕ ⲉⲙⲁⲧⲉ :

    And the Lord said to Jonas, Art thou very much grieved?

  17. Jonah_04:5

    ⲁⲩⲱ ⲓⲱⲛⲁⲥ ⲁϥⲣⲡⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲧⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ ⲁϥϩⲙⲟⲟⲥ ⲙⲡⲉⲙⲧⲟ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲧⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲧⲁⲙⲓⲟ ⲛⲁϥ ⲙⲡⲙⲁ ⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲛⲟⲩⲥⲕⲏⲛⲏ : ⲁϥϩⲙⲟⲟⲥ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲥ ⲉϥϫⲓϩⲁⲓⲃⲉⲥ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲥ ϣⲁⲛⲧϥⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉⲟⲩ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲁϣⲱⲡⲉ ϩⲛⲧⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ :

    And Jonas went out from the city, and sat over against the city; and he made for himself there a booth, and he sat under it, until he should perceive what would become of the city.

    ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲛⲓⲛⲉⲩⲏ ⲁⲩⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲁⲩⲕⲏⲣⲩⲥⲥⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲛⲏⲥⲧⲉⲓⲁ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩϯ ϩⲓⲱⲱⲟⲩ ⲛϩⲉⲛϭⲟⲟⲩⲛⲉ ϫⲓⲛⲡⲉⲩⲛⲟϭ ϣⲁⲡⲉⲩⲕⲟⲩⲓ :

    And the men of Nineve believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloths, from the greatest of them to the least of them.

    ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ϩⲱ ⲁⲓϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉⲁⲩⲛⲟϫⲧ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲛⲁϩⲣⲛⲡⲉⲕϩⲟ ⲁⲣⲁ ϯⲛⲁⲟⲩⲱϩ ⲉⲧⲟⲟⲧ ⲉϭⲱϣⲧ ⲉⲡⲉⲕⲣⲡⲉ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ :

    And I said, I am cast out of thy presence: shall I indeed look again toward thy holy temple?

    ⲁⲛⲛⲉⲉϥ ⲣϩⲟⲧⲉ ϩⲛⲟⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲛϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲱϣ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϭⲓⲡⲟⲩⲁ ⲡⲟⲩⲁ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲡⲉϥⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ : ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲛⲟⲩϫⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛⲛⲉⲥⲕⲉⲩⲏ ⲉⲧϩⲛⲡϫⲟⲉⲓ ⲉⲧⲉⲑⲁⲗⲁⲥⲥⲁ : ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲡϫⲟⲉⲓ ⲁⲥⲁⲓ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ : ⲓⲱⲛⲁⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲡⲟⲩⲛⲧ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓ ⲁϥⲛⲕⲟⲧⲕ ⲁϥϩⲣϩⲣ :

    And the sailors were alarmed, and cried every one to his god, and cast out the wares that were in the ship into the sea, that it might be lightened of them. But Jonas was gone down into the hold of the ship, and was asleep, and snored.

    ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲉϩⲥⲁϩⲛⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲃⲛⲧⲛⲉϭⲗⲟϭ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥϯⲟⲩⲱ ⲉϫⲛⲓⲱⲛⲁ : ⲉⲧⲣⲉϥⲣϩⲁⲉⲓⲃⲉⲥ ⲉϫⲱϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛⲛⲉϥϩⲓⲥⲉ : ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲣⲁϣⲉ ⲛϭⲓⲓⲱⲛⲁⲥ ϩⲛⲟⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲛⲣⲁϣⲉ ⲉϫⲛⲡⲃⲛⲧⲛⲉϭⲗⲟϭ :

    And the Lord God commanded a gourd, and it came up over the head of Jonas, to be a shadow over his head, to shade him from his calamities: and Jonas rejoiced with great joy for the gourd.

    ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥϯⲡⲉϥⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲛϭⲓⲡⲛⲉⲉϥ ⲉⲧϩⲓϩⲏ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉⲉⲧⲃⲉⲟⲩ ⲛⲧⲟⲕ ⲕϩⲣϩⲣ : ⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲛⲅⲉⲡⲓⲕⲁⲗⲉⲓ ⲙⲡⲉⲕⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲙⲉϣⲁⲕ ⲉϥⲉⲛⲁϩⲙⲛ ⲛϭⲓⲡⲉⲕⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲛⲧⲛⲧⲙⲙⲟⲩ :

    And the shipmaster came to him, and said to him, Why snorest thou? arise, and call upon thy God, that God may save us, and we perish not.

  23. Jonah_03:6

    ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲁϥⲡⲱϩ ϣⲁⲡⲣⲣⲟ ⲛⲛⲓⲛⲉⲩⲏ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓϫⲛⲡⲉϥⲑⲣⲟⲛⲟⲥ : ⲁϥⲕⲁⲁϥ ⲕⲁϩⲏⲟⲩ ⲛⲧⲉϥϩⲃⲥⲱ ⲁϥϭⲟⲟⲗⲉϥ ⲛⲟⲩϭⲟⲟⲩⲛⲉ ⲁϥϩⲙⲟⲟⲥ ϩⲓϫⲛⲟⲩⲕⲣⲙⲉⲥ :

    And the word reached the king of Nineve, and he arose from off his throne, and took off his raiment from him, and put on sackcloth, and sat on ashes.

    ⲁϩⲉⲛⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲓ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲛⲁⲓ ϣⲁⲧⲁⲯⲩⲭⲏ : ⲁⲡⲛⲟⲩⲛ ⲛϩⲁⲉ ⲕⲱⲧⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲓ : ⲟⲩϩⲩⲗⲟⲥ ⲁϥⲕⲱⲧⲉ ⲉⲧⲁⲁⲡⲉ :

    Water was poured around me to the soul: the lowest deep compassed me, my head went down

  25. Jonah_01:7

    ⲡⲉϫⲉⲡⲟⲩⲁ ⲡⲟⲩⲁ ⲙⲡⲉⲧϩⲓⲧⲟⲩⲱϥ ϫⲉⲁⲙⲏⲉⲓⲧⲛ ⲛⲧⲛⲛⲉϫⲕⲗⲏⲣⲟⲥ ⲧⲁⲣⲛⲉⲓⲙⲉ ϫⲉⲉⲧⲃⲉⲟⲩ ⲛϩⲱⲃ ⲧⲉⲓⲕⲁⲕⲓⲁ ϩⲓϫⲱⲛ : ⲁⲩⲛⲉϫⲕⲗⲏⲣⲟⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲡⲉⲕⲗⲏⲣⲟⲥ ⲉⲓ ⲉϫⲛⲓⲱⲛⲁⲥ :

    And each man said to his neighbour, Come, let us cast lots, and find out for whose sake this mischief is upon us. So they cast lots, and the lot fell upon Jonas.

    ⲁⲓⲃⲱⲕ ⲉⲡⲉⲥⲏⲧ ⲉⲛⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲛ ⲛⲧⲟⲩⲉⲓⲏ : ⲉⲡⲉⲥⲏⲧ ⲉⲩⲕⲁϩ ⲉⲣⲉⲛⲉϥⲙⲟⲭⲗⲟⲥ ⲁⲙⲁϩⲧⲉ ϣⲁⲉⲛⲉϩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲕⲛⲁⲉⲓⲛⲉ ⲙⲙⲁ ⲛⲱⲛϩ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ϩⲛⲡⲧⲁⲕⲟ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ϣⲁⲣⲟⲕ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲡⲁⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ :

    to the clefts of the mountains; I went down into the earth, whose bars are the everlasting barriers: yet, O Lord my God, let my ruined life be restored.

    ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲕⲏⲣⲩⲥⲥⲉ ϩⲛⲛⲓⲛⲉⲩⲏ : ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲟⲧϥ ⲙⲡⲣⲣⲟ ⲙⲛⲛⲉϥⲙⲉⲅⲓⲥⲧⲁⲛⲟⲥ ⲛⲟⲩϣⲁϫⲉ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲙⲛⲛⲧⲃⲛⲟⲟⲩⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲙⲛⲉⲥⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲛⲛⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲡⲣⲧⲣⲉⲩⲟⲩⲱⲙ ⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲙⲡⲣⲧⲣⲉⲩⲙⲟⲟⲛⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡⲣⲧⲣⲉⲩⲥⲉⲙⲟⲟⲩ :

    And proclamation was made, and it was commanded in Nineve by the king an by his great men, saying, Let not men, or cattle, or oxen, or sheep, taste any thing, nor feed, nor drink water.
