   ⲡⲁⲩⲗⲟⲥ ⲡⲉⲧⲥⲟⲛϩ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ⲛⲉⲙⲧⲓⲙⲟⲑⲉⲟⲥ ⲡⲓⲥⲟⲛ ⲛⲫⲩⲗⲓⲙⲱⲛ ⲡⲉⲛⲙⲉⲛⲣⲓⲧ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲉⲛϣⲫⲏⲣ ⲛⲣⲉϥⲉⲣϩⲱⲃ

   Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timothy our brother, to Philemon, our beloved fellow worker,

2. 1.2

   ⲛⲉⲙⲁⲡⲫⲓⲁ ϯⲥⲱⲛⲓ ⲛⲉⲙⲁⲣⲭⲓⲡⲡⲟⲥ ⲡⲉⲛϣⲫⲏⲣ ⲙⲙⲁⲧⲟⲓ ⲛⲉⲙϯⲉⲕⲕⲗⲏⲥⲓⲁ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲟⲩⲏⲓ .

   to the beloved Apphia, to Archippus, our fellow soldier, and to the assembly in your house:

   ⲡϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲛⲉⲙⲧϩⲓⲣⲏⲛⲏ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲡⲉⲛⲓⲱⲧ ⲛⲉⲙⲡⲉⲛϭⲟⲓⲥ ⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ⲡⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ .

   Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

4. 1.4

   ϯϣⲉⲡϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲛⲧⲉⲛⲡⲁⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲛⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉⲓⲓⲣⲓ ⲙⲡⲉⲕⲙⲉⲩⲓ ϧⲉⲛⲛⲁⲡⲣⲟⲥⲉⲩⲭⲏ

   I thank my God always, making mention of you in my prayers,

   ⲁⲓⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲉⲑⲃⲉⲧⲉⲕⲁⲅⲁⲡⲏ ⲛⲉⲙⲡⲉⲕⲛⲁϩϯ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲉⲛⲧⲁⲕ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ϧⲉⲛⲡϭⲟⲓⲥ ⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ⲛⲉⲙⲛⲓϩⲁⲅⲓⲟⲥ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ .

   hearing of your love, and of the faith which you have toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all the saints;

   ϩⲟⲡⲱⲥ ϯⲙⲉⲧϣⲫⲏⲣ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲉⲕⲛⲁϩϯ ⲛⲧⲉⲥϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲉⲥⲉⲣϩⲱⲃ ϧⲉⲛⲡⲥⲟⲩⲉⲛ ⲁⲅⲁⲑⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲉⲧϧⲉⲛⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⲉⲡⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ .

   that the fellowship of your faith may become effective, in the knowledge of every good thing which is in us in Christ Jesus.

7. 1.7

   ⲁⲓϭⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲟⲩⲛⲓϣϯ ⲛⲣⲁϣⲓ ⲛⲉⲙⲟⲩⲛⲟⲙϯ ⲉϩⲣⲏⲓ ⲉϫⲉⲛⲧⲉⲕⲁⲅⲁⲡⲏ ϫⲉⲛⲓⲙⲉⲧϣⲁⲛⲑⲙⲁϧⲧ ⲛⲧⲉⲛⲓϩⲁⲅⲓⲟⲥ ⲁⲩⲙⲧⲟⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲧⲕ ⲡⲓⲥⲟⲛ .

   For we have much joy and comfort in your love, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through you, brother.

8. 1.8

   ⲉⲑⲃⲉⲫⲁⲓ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲧⲏⲓ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲛⲟⲩⲛⲓϣϯ ⲙⲡⲁⲣⲣⲏⲥⲓⲁ ϧⲉⲛⲡϭⲟⲓⲥ ⲉⲟⲩⲁϩⲥⲁϩⲛⲓ ⲛⲁⲕ ⲛⲛⲏ ⲉⲧⲥϣⲉ

   Therefore, though I have all boldness in Christ to command you that which is appropriate,

   ⲉⲑⲃⲉⲧⲁⲅⲁⲡⲏ ⲙⲁⲗⲗⲟⲛ ϯϯϩⲟ ⲉⲣⲟⲕ ⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲙⲡⲁⲓⲣⲏϯ ϩⲱ ⲡⲁⲩⲗⲟⲥ ⲡⲓϧⲉⲗⲗⲟⲓ ϯⲛⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲟⲛ ⲡⲉⲧⲥⲟⲛϩ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ .

   yet for love's sake I rather beg, being such a one as Paul, the aged, but also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.

10. 1.10

    ϯϯϩⲟ ⲉⲣⲟⲕ ⲉⲑⲃⲉⲡⲁϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲁⲓϫⲫⲟϥ ϧⲉⲛⲛⲁⲥⲛⲁⲩϩ ⲟⲛⲏⲥⲓⲙⲟⲥ .

    I beg you for my child, whom I have become the father of in my chains, Onesimus,

    ⲫⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲉⲛⲁϥⲟⲓ ⲛⲁⲧϣⲁⲩ ⲛⲁⲕ ⲛⲟⲩⲥⲏ ⲟⲩ ϯⲛⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ϥⲟⲓ ⲛϣⲁⲩ ⲛⲏⲓ ⲛⲉⲙⲁⲕ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲁⲓⲟⲩⲟⲣⲡϥ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲕ .

    who once was useless to you, but now is useful to you and to me.

12. 1.12

    ⲛⲑⲟⲕ ⲇⲉ ϣⲟⲡϥ ⲉⲣⲟⲕ ⲉⲧⲉⲫⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ⲛⲁⲙⲉⲧϣⲁⲛⲑⲙⲁϧⲧ .

    I am sending him back. Therefore receive him, that is, my own heart,

    ⲫⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲉⲛⲁⲓⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲉⲁⲙⲟⲛⲓ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ϧⲁⲧⲟⲧ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲛⲧⲉϥϣⲉⲙϣⲓ ⲙⲙⲟⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲕϣⲉⲃⲓⲱ ϧⲉⲛⲛⲓⲥⲛⲁⲩϩ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲓⲉⲩⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲓⲟⲛ .

    whom I desired to keep with me, that on your behalf he might serve me in my chains for the Good News.

14. 1.14

    ⲁϭⲛⲉ ⲧⲉⲕⲅⲛⲱⲙⲏ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲡⲓⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲉⲉⲣ ϩⲗⲓ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲛⲧⲉϣⲧⲉⲙ ⲡⲉⲕⲡⲉⲑⲛⲁⲛⲉϥ ϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲟⲩⲁⲛⲁⲅⲕⲏ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ϧⲉⲛⲟⲩⲣⲱⲟⲩⲧϥ ⲛϩⲏⲧ .

    But I was willing to do nothing without your consent, that your goodness would not be as of necessity, but of free will.

15. 1.15

    ⲧⲁⲭⲁ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲑⲃⲉⲫⲁⲓ ⲁϥⲫⲱⲣϫ ⲙⲙⲟⲕ ⲡⲣⲟⲥ ⲟⲩⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲛⲧⲉⲕϭⲓⲧϥ ⲛⲉⲛⲉϩ .

    For perhaps he was therefore separated from you for a while, that you would have him forever,

    ⲙⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲛⲟⲩⲃⲱⲕ ⲁⲛ ϫⲉⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲙⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲛⲟⲩⲥⲟⲛ ⲙⲙⲉⲛⲣⲓⲧ ⲉϥⲟⲩⲟⲧ ⲉⲟⲩⲃⲱⲕ ⲙⲁⲗⲓⲥⲧⲁ ⲛⲏⲓ ⲁⲩⲏⲣ ϫⲉⲙⲁⲗⲗⲟⲛ ⲛⲁⲕ ⲛⲉⲙϧⲉⲛⲧⲥⲁⲣⲝ ⲛⲉⲙϧⲉⲛⲡϭⲟⲓⲥ .

    no longer as a slave, but more than a slave, a beloved brother, especially to me, but how much rather to you, both in the flesh and in the Lord.

17. 1.17

    ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲛ ϯⲛⲧⲟⲧⲕ ⲙⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲛⲟⲩϣⲫⲏ ⲣϣⲟⲡϥ ⲉⲣⲟⲕ ⲙⲡⲁⲓⲣⲏϯ .

    If then you count me a partner, receive him as you would receive me.

18. 1.18

    ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥϭⲓⲧⲕ ⲛϫⲟⲛⲥ ⲛϩⲗⲓ ⲓⲉ ⲁⲛ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲟⲡϥ ⲉⲣⲟⲓ .

    But if he has wronged you at all, or owes you anything, put that to my account.

19. 1.19

    ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲡⲁⲩⲗⲟⲥ ⲁⲓⲥϧⲁⲓ ϧⲉⲛⲧⲁϫⲓϫ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲉⲑⲛⲁⲧⲱⲃ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲛⲧⲁϣⲧⲉⲙϫⲟⲥ ⲛⲁⲕ ϫⲉⲕⲉⲣⲟⲕ ⲙⲙⲓⲛⲙⲙⲟⲕ ⲉⲧⲏⲓⲕ ⲛⲏⲓ .

    I, Paul, write this with my own hand: I will repay it (not to mention to you that you owe to me even your own self besides).

20. 1.20

    ⲁϩⲁ ⲡⲁⲥⲟⲛ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲉⲓⲉⲙⲧⲟⲛ ⲙⲙⲟⲓ ⲛϧⲏⲧⲕ ϧⲉⲛⲡϭⲟⲓⲥ ⲙⲁⲙⲧⲟⲛ ⲛⲛⲁⲙⲉⲧϣⲁⲛⲑⲙⲁϧⲧ ϧⲉⲛⲡⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ .

    Yes, brother, let me have joy from you in the Lord. Refresh my heart in the Lord.

21. 1.21

    ⲉⲣⲉⲡⲁϩⲏⲧ ⲑⲏⲧ ⲉϩⲣⲏⲓ ⲉϫⲉⲛⲧⲉⲕⲙⲉⲧⲣⲉϥⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲁⲓⲥϧⲁⲓ ⲛⲁⲕ ⲉⲓⲉⲙⲓ ϫⲉⲭⲛⲁⲉⲣϩⲟⲩⲟ ⲉⲛⲏ ⲉϯϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ .

    Having confidence in your obedience, I write to you, knowing that you will do even beyond what I say.

22. 1.22

    ⲁⲙⲁ ⲇⲉ ⲥⲟⲃϯ ⲛⲏⲓ ⲛⲟⲩⲉⲝⲉⲛⲓⲁ ϯⲉⲣϩⲉⲗⲡⲓⲥ ⲅⲁⲣ ϫⲉⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛⲡⲣⲟⲥⲉⲩⲭⲏ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲧⲏⲓⲧ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲛϩⲙⲟⲧ .

    Also, prepare a guest room for me, for I hope that through your prayers I will be restored to you.

23. 1.23

    ϥϣⲓⲛⲓ ⲉⲣⲟⲕ ⲛϫⲉⲁⲡⲁⲫⲣⲁⲥ ⲡⲁϣⲫⲏⲣ ⲛⲉⲭⲙⲁⲗⲱⲧⲟⲥ ϧⲉⲛⲡⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ .

    Epaphras, my fellow prisoner in Christ Jesus, greets you,

    ⲙⲁⲣⲕⲟⲥ ⲁⲣⲓⲥⲧⲁⲣⲭⲟⲥ ⲇⲏⲙⲁⲥ ⲗⲟⲩⲕⲁⲥ ⲛⲁϣⲫⲉⲣ ⲛⲣⲉϥⲉⲣϩⲱⲃ .

    as do Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, and Luke, my fellow workers.
