ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉⲣⲉϩⲁⲛⲥⲁⲛⲇⲁⲗⲓⲟⲛ ⲧⲟⲓ ⲉⲣⲁⲧⲉⲛ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲙⲡⲉⲣϯ ϣⲑⲏⲛ ⲥⲛⲟⲩϯ ϩⲓⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ
but to wear sandals, and not put on two tunics.

ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉⲡⲓⲙⲁ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲛⲁϣⲉ ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲟⲩⲏⲓ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ϣⲁⲧⲉⲧⲛⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ
He said to them, 'Wherever you enter into a house, stay there until you depart from there.

ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲙⲁ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉⲧⲉⲛϥⲛⲁϣⲉⲡ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲁⲛ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲛⲧⲟⲩϣⲧⲉⲙⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲛⲉϩ ⲡϣⲱⲓϣ ⲉⲧⲥⲁⲉϧⲣⲏⲓ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲛϭⲁⲗⲁⲩϫ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲩⲙⲉⲧⲙⲉⲑⲣⲉ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ .
Whoever will not receive you nor hear you, as you depart from there, shake off the dust that is under your feet for a testimony against them. Assuredly, I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!'
6.12
ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲁⲩϩⲓⲱⲓϣ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲛⲥⲉⲉⲣⲙⲉⲧⲁⲛⲟⲓⲛ
They went out and preached that people should repent.
6.13
ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩϩⲓ ⲟⲩⲙⲏϣ ⲛⲇⲁⲓⲙⲱⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲟⲩⲙⲏϣ ⲛⲣⲉϥϣⲱⲛⲓ ⲛⲁⲩⲑⲱϩⲥ ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲛⲉϩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁⲩⲉⲣⲫⲁϧⲣⲓ ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ .
They cast out many demons, and anointed many with oil who were sick, and healed them.

ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲛϫⲉⲡⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⲏⲣⲱⲇⲏ ⲥⲡⲉϥⲣⲁⲛ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲟⲛϩϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉⲓⲱⲁⲛⲛⲏⲥ ⲡⲓⲣⲉϥϯⲱⲙⲥ ⲁϥⲧⲱⲛϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲛⲏ ⲉⲧⲙⲱⲟⲩⲧ ⲉⲑⲃⲉⲫⲁⲓ ⲛⲓϫⲟⲙ ⲥⲉⲉⲣϩⲱⲃ ⲛϧⲏⲧϥ .
King Herod heard this, for his name had become known, and he said, 'John the Baptizer has risen from the dead, and therefore these powers are at work in him.'

ϩⲁⲛⲕⲉⲭⲱⲟⲩⲛⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉⲏⲗⲓⲁⲥ ⲡⲉ ϩⲁⲛⲕⲉⲭⲱⲟⲩⲛⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉⲟⲩⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲙⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲛⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲛⲛⲓⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏ ⲧⲏⲥ ⲛⲁⲣⲭⲉⲟⲥ
But others said, 'He is Elijah.' Others said, 'He is a prophet, or like one of the prophets.'
6.16
ⲉⲧⲁϥⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲇⲉ ⲛϫⲉⲏⲣⲱⲇⲏⲥ ⲛⲁϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉⲓⲱⲁⲛⲛⲏⲥ ⲫⲏ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲉⲧⲁⲓⲉⲗ ⲧⲉϥⲛⲁϩⲃⲓ ⲛⲑⲟϥ ⲡⲉⲧⲁϥⲧⲱⲛϥ .
But Herod, when he heard this, said, 'This is John, whom I beheaded. He has risen from the dead.'
6.17
ⲏⲣⲱⲇⲏⲥ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲉⲁϥⲁⲙⲟⲛⲓ ⲛⲓⲱⲁⲛⲛⲏ ⲥⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲥⲟⲛϩϥ ϧⲉⲛⲡⲓϣⲧⲉⲕⲟ ⲉⲑⲃⲉⲏⲣⲱⲇⲓⲁⲥ ⲧⲥϩⲓⲙⲓ ⲙⲫⲓⲗⲓⲡⲡⲟⲥ ⲡⲉϥⲥⲟⲛ ϫⲉⲟⲩⲏ ⲓⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲉⲁϥϭⲓⲧⲥ ⲡⲉ
For Herod himself had sent out and arrested John, and bound him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife, for he had married her.
6.18
ⲛⲁϥϫⲱ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲡⲉ ⲛϫⲉⲓⲱⲁⲛⲛⲏⲥ ⲛⲏⲣⲱⲇⲏⲥ ϫⲉⲥϣⲉ ⲛⲁⲕ ⲁⲛ ⲉϭⲓ ⲧⲥϩⲓⲙⲓ ⲙⲡⲉⲕⲥⲟⲛ .
For John said to Herod, 'It is not lawful for you to have your brother's wife.'
6.19
ⲏⲣⲱⲇⲓⲁⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁⲥⲙⲃⲟⲛ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲡⲉ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁⲥⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲉϧⲟⲑⲃϥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁⲥϣϫⲉⲙϫⲟⲙ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ .
Herodias set herself against him, and desired to kill him, but she couldn't,
6.20
ⲏⲣⲱⲇⲏⲥ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲁϥⲉⲣϩⲟϯ ϧⲁⲧϩⲏ ⲛⲓⲱⲁⲛⲛⲏ ⲥⲉϥⲥⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ϫⲉⲟⲩⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲛⲇⲓⲕⲉⲟⲥ ⲡⲉ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ϥⲟⲩⲁⲃ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁϥⲁⲣⲉϩ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲡⲉ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁϥⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲉϩⲁⲛⲙⲏϣ ⲛⲧⲟⲧϥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁϥϣⲟⲗϩ ⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲡⲉ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ϩⲏⲇⲉⲱⲥ ⲛⲁϥⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲉⲣⲟϥ .
for Herod feared John, knowing that he was a righteous and holy man, and kept him safe. When he heard him, he did many things, and he heard him gladly.

ⲉⲧⲁ ⲟⲩⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲛⲉⲩⲕⲉⲣⲓⲁ ϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲉⲧⲁ ⲏⲣⲱⲇⲏⲥ ϧⲉⲛⲡⲉϥⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲙⲓⲥⲓ ⲑⲁⲙⲓⲉ ⲟⲩⲇⲓⲡⲛⲟⲛ ⲛⲛⲉϥⲛⲓϣϯ ⲛⲉⲙⲛⲓⲭⲓⲗⲓⲁⲣⲭ ⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲙⲛⲓϩⲟⲩⲁϯ ⲛⲧⲉϯⲅⲁⲗⲓⲗⲉⲁ .
Then a convenient day came, that Herod on his birthday made a supper for his nobles, the high officers, and the chief men of Galilee.

ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁⲥⲓ ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ⲛϫⲉⲧϣⲉⲣⲓ ⲛⲏⲣⲱⲇⲓⲁⲥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁⲥϭⲟⲥϫⲉⲥ ⲁⲥⲣⲁⲛⲁϥ ⲛⲏⲣⲱⲇⲏⲥ ⲛⲉⲙⲛⲏ ⲉⲑⲣⲟⲧⲉⲃ ⲛⲉⲙⲁϥ ⲡⲉϫⲉ ⲡⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⲇⲉ ⲛϯⲁⲗⲟⲩ ϫⲉⲁⲣⲓⲉⲧⲓⲛ ⲙⲙⲟⲓ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲉⲟⲩⲁϣϥ ⲛⲧⲁⲧⲏⲓϥ ⲛⲉ .
When the daughter of Herodias herself came in and danced, she pleased Herod and those sitting with him. The king said to the young lady, 'Ask me whatever you want, and I will give it to you.'
6.23
ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲱⲣⲕ ⲛⲁⲥ ϫⲉⲫⲏ ⲉⲧⲉⲣⲁⲉⲣⲉⲧⲓⲛ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ϯⲛⲁϯ ⲛⲉϣⲁ ⲧⲫⲁϣⲓ ⲛⲧⲁⲙⲉⲧⲟⲩⲣⲟ .
He swore to her, 'Whatever you shall ask of me, I will give you, up to half of my kingdom.'
6.24
ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁⲥⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲡⲉϫⲁⲥ ⲛⲧⲉⲥⲙⲁⲩ ϫⲉⲟⲩ ⲡⲉϯⲛⲁⲉⲣⲉⲧⲓⲛ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲛⲑⲟⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁⲥ ϫⲉⲧⲁⲫⲉ ⲛⲓⲱⲁⲛⲛⲏⲥ ⲡⲓⲣⲉϥϯⲱⲙⲥ
She went out, and said to her mother, 'What shall I ask?' She said, 'The head of John the Baptizer.'

ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁⲥⲓ ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ϧⲉⲛⲟⲩⲥⲡⲟⲩⲇⲏ ϩⲁⲡⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⲁⲥⲉⲣⲉⲧⲓⲛ ⲉⲥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉϯⲟⲩⲱϣ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ϯⲛⲟⲩ ⲛⲧⲉⲕϯ ⲛⲏⲓ ⲛⲧⲁⲫⲉ ⲛⲓⲱⲁⲛⲛⲏ ⲥⲡⲓⲣⲉϥϯⲱⲙⲥ ϩⲓⲟⲩⲃⲓⲛⲁϫ .
She came in immediately with haste to the king, and asked, 'I want you to give me right now the head of John the Baptizer on a platter.'
6.26
ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁ ⲡϩⲏⲧ ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⲙⲕⲁϩ ⲉⲑⲃⲉⲛⲓⲁⲛⲁⲩϣ ⲛⲉⲙⲛⲏ ⲉⲑⲣⲟⲧⲉⲃ ⲛⲉⲙⲁϥ ⲙⲡⲉϥⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲉϥⲟϫⲥ .
The king was exceedingly sorry, but for the sake of his oaths, and of his dinner guests, he didn't wish to refuse her.
6.27
ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲥⲁⲧⲟⲧϥ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲣⲡ ⲛϫⲉⲡⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⲛⲟⲩⲥⲕⲉⲡⲱⲗⲁⲧⲟⲣ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲁϩⲥⲁϩⲛⲓ ⲛⲧⲉϥⲓⲛⲓ ⲛⲧⲉϥⲁⲫⲉ ϩⲓⲡⲓⲃⲓⲛⲁϫ .
Immediately the king sent out a soldier of his guard, and commanded to bring John's head, and he went and beheaded him in the prison,

ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲧⲏⲓⲥ ⲛϯⲁⲗⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϯⲁⲗⲟⲩ ⲧⲏⲓⲥ ⲛⲧⲉⲥⲙⲁⲩ .
and brought his head on a platter, and gave it to the young lady; and the young lady gave it to her mother.
6.29
ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲛϫⲉⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲁⲩⲓ ⲁⲩⲱⲗⲓ ⲙⲡⲓⲥⲱⲙⲁ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩⲭⲁϥ ⲛϧⲟⲩⲛ ϧⲉⲛⲟⲩⲙϩⲁⲩ .
When his disciples heard this, they came and took up his corpse, and laid it in a tomb.
6.30
ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩⲑⲱⲟⲩϯ ⲛϫⲉⲛⲓⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ ϩⲁⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩⲧⲁⲙⲟϥ ⲉϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲁⲓϥ ⲛⲉⲙⲫⲏ ⲉⲧⲁⲩϯⲥⲃⲱ ⲙⲙⲟϥ
The apostles gathered themselves together to Jesus, and they told him all things, whatever they had done, and whatever they had taught.

ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉⲁⲙⲱⲓⲛⲓ ⲛⲑⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲥⲁⲡⲥⲁ ⲉⲟⲩⲙⲁⲛϣⲁϥⲉ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲙⲧⲟⲛ ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲛⲟⲩⲕⲟⲩϫⲓ ⲛⲏ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲑⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙⲛⲏ ⲉⲑⲛⲁⲛⲁⲩⲟϣ ⲡⲉ . ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁⲩϫⲉⲙ ⲉⲩⲕⲉⲣⲓⲁ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲉⲣ ⲡⲕⲉⲟⲩⲱⲙ
He said to them, 'You come apart into a deserted place, and rest awhile.' For there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.

ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩϣⲉ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ϩⲓⲡⲓϫⲟⲉⲓ ⲉⲟⲩⲙⲁⲛϣⲁϥⲉ ⲥⲁⲡⲥⲁ .
They went away in the boat to a deserted place by themselves.
6.33
ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲩϩⲏⲗ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩⲥⲱⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲛϫⲉⲟⲩⲙⲏϣ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩϭⲟϫⲓ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲛⲣⲁⲧⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲃⲁⲕⲓ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩⲉⲣϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ .
They saw them going, and many recognized him and ran there on foot from all the cities. They arrived before them and came together to him.

ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲁϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲟⲩⲙⲏϣ ⲉϥⲟϣ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥϣⲉⲛϩⲏⲧ ϧⲁⲣⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉⲛⲁⲩⲟⲓ ⲙⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲛϩⲁⲛⲉⲥⲱⲟⲩ ⲙⲙⲟⲛⲧⲟⲩ ⲙⲁⲛⲉⲥⲱⲟⲩ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲉⲣϩⲏⲧⲥ ⲛϯⲥⲃⲱ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⲛϩⲁⲛⲙⲏ ϣ
Jesus came out, saw a great multitude, and he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd, and he began to teach them many things.

ⲟⲩⲟϩ ϩⲏⲇⲏ ⲉⲧⲁ ⲟⲩⲛⲓϣϯ ⲛⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩ ϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲓ ϩⲁⲣⲟϥ ⲛϫⲉⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲛⲁⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉⲡⲓⲙⲁ ⲟⲩϣⲁϥⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ϩⲏⲇⲏ ϯⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲁⲥⲥⲓⲛⲓ .
When it was late in the day, his disciples came to him, and said, 'This place is deserted, and it is late in the day.

ⲭⲁⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲛⲧⲟⲩϣⲉ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲛⲓⲓⲟϩⲓ ⲉⲧⲕⲱϯ ⲛⲉⲙⲛⲓϯⲙⲓ ⲛⲧⲟⲩϣⲱⲡ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲟⲩⲛⲁⲟⲩⲟⲙϥ .
Send them away, that they may go into the surrounding country and villages, and buy themselves bread, for they have nothing to eat.'

ⲛⲑⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥⲉⲣⲟⲩⲱ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉⲙⲟⲓ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲑⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲙⲁⲣⲟⲩⲟⲩⲱⲙ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲉϫⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁϣⲉ ⲛⲁⲛ ⲛⲧⲉⲛϣⲉⲡ ⲥⲛⲥⲁⲑⲉⲣⲓ ⲛⲱⲓⲕ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲧⲉⲛϯ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲟⲩⲱⲙ .
But he answered them, 'You give them something to eat.' They asked him, 'Shall we go and buy two hundred denarii worth of bread, and give them something to eat?'

ⲛⲑⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲟⲩⲏⲣ ⲛⲱⲓⲕ ⲛⲧⲉⲛⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⲙⲁϣⲉ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲁⲛⲁⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲉⲙⲓ ⲡⲉϫⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉⲉⲛⲱⲓⲕ ⲛⲉⲙⲧⲉⲃⲧ ⲃ .
He said to them, 'How many loaves do you have? Go see.' When they knew, they said, 'Five, and two fish.'

ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲁϩⲥⲁϩⲛⲓ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲧⲟⲩⲣⲱⲧⲉⲃ ⲛⲥⲓⲙⲡⲟⲥⲓⲟⲛ ⲥⲓⲙⲡⲟⲥⲓⲟⲛ ϩⲓϫⲉⲛⲡⲓⲥⲓⲙ ⲉⲑⲟⲩⲉⲧⲟⲩⲱⲧ
He commanded them that everyone should sit down in groups on the green grass.

ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩⲣⲱⲧⲉⲃ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲙⲙⲁ ⲙⲁ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲣⲣ ⲛⲉⲙⲕⲁⲧⲁⲛⲛ .
They sat down in ranks, by hundreds and by fifties.

(For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, don't eat unless they wash their hands and forearms, holding to the tradition of the elders.

They don't eat when they come from the marketplace, unless they bathe themselves, and there are many other things, which they have received to hold to: washings of cups, pitchers, bronze vessels, and couches.)

The Pharisees and the scribes asked him, 'Why don't your disciples walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat their bread with unwashed hands?'

He answered them, 'Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, 'This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.

making void the word of God by your tradition, which you have handed down. You do many things like this.'

ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲙⲟⲩϯ ⲟⲛ ⲉⲡⲓⲙⲏϣ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲉⲣⲟⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲕⲁϯ
He called all the multitude to himself, and said to them, 'Hear me, all of you, and understand.

There is nothing from outside of the man, that going into him can defile him; but the things which proceed out of the man are those that defile the man.

ⲫⲏ ⲉⲧⲉⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲙⲁϣϫ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲉⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲙⲁⲣⲉϥⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ
If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear!'

He said to them, 'Are you thus without understanding also? Don't you perceive that whatever goes into the man from outside can't defile him,

He said, 'That which proceeds out of the man, that defiles the man.
7.21

For from within, out of the hearts of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, sexual sins, murders, thefts,

ⲛⲓⲙⲉⲧϭⲓⲛϫⲟⲛⲥ ⲛⲓⲙⲉⲧⲡⲉⲧϩⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲓⲙⲉⲧⲇⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲛⲓⲥⲱϥ ⲛⲓⲃⲁⲗ ⲉⲧϩⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲓϫⲉⲟⲩⲁ ⲟⲩϭⲓⲥⲓ ⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲟⲩⲙⲉⲧⲁⲧⲕⲁϯ
covetings, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, and foolishness.
7.23
ⲛⲁⲓ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲉⲧϩⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲩⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲥⲁϧⲟⲩⲛ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲥⲉⲥⲱϥ ⲙⲡⲓⲣⲱⲙⲓ .
All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.'
7.24
ⲉⲧⲁϥⲧⲱⲛϥ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲁϥϣⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ⲉⲛⲓⲥⲁ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲩⲣⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲧⲥⲓⲇⲱⲛ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁϥϣⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲟⲩⲏⲓ ⲛⲁϥⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲛⲧⲉϩⲗⲓ ⲉⲙⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲙⲡⲉϥϣϫⲉⲙϫⲟⲙ ⲛⲱⲃϣ
From there he arose, and went away into the borders of Tyre and Sidon. He entered into a house, and didn't want anyone to know it, but he couldn't escape notice.

For a woman, whose little daughter had an unclean spirit, having heard of him, came and fell down at his feet.

Now the woman was a Greek, a Syrophoenician by race. She begged him that he would cast the demon out of her daughter.

But Jesus said to her, 'Let the children be filled first, for it is not appropriate to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs.'

ⲛⲑⲟⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲥⲉⲣⲟⲩⲱ ⲡⲉϫⲁⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉⲥⲉ ⲡⲁϭⲟⲓⲥ ⲛⲓⲕⲉⲟⲩϩⲱⲣ ⲥⲉⲟⲩⲱⲙ ⲉϧⲣⲏⲓ ⲛϯⲧⲣⲁⲛⲉⲍⲁ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲛⲓⲗⲉϥⲗⲓϥⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲛⲓⲁⲗⲱⲟⲩⲓ .
But she answered him, 'Yes, Lord. Yet even the dogs under the table eat the children's crumbs.'
7.29
ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲥ ϫⲉⲉⲑⲃⲉⲡⲁⲓⲥⲁϫⲓ ⲙⲁϣⲉ ⲛⲉⲁϥϣⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉϣⲉⲣⲓ ⲛϫⲉⲡⲓⲇⲁⲓⲙⲱⲛ .
He said to her, 'For this saying, go your way. The demon has gone out of your daughter.'
7.30
ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁⲥϣⲉ ⲛⲁⲥ ⲉⲡⲉⲥⲏⲓ ⲁⲥϫⲓⲙⲓ ⲛϯⲁⲗⲟⲩ ϩⲓϫⲉⲛⲡⲓϭⲗⲟϫ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲓⲇⲁⲓⲙⲱⲛ ⲁϥϣⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲱⲧⲥ .
She went away to her house, and found the child having been laid on the bed, with the demon gone out.

Again he departed from the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and came to the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the region of Decapolis.

ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩⲓⲛⲓ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛⲟⲩⲕⲟⲩⲣ ⲛⲉⲃⲟ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩϯϩⲟ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲛⲧⲉϥⲭⲁ ϫⲓϫ ϩⲓϫⲱϥ .
They brought to him one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech. They begged him to lay his hand on him.

He took him aside from the multitude, privately, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spat, and touched his tongue.

Immediately his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was released, and he spoke clearly.

He commanded them that they should tell no one, but the more he commanded them, so much the more widely they proclaimed it.

They were astonished beyond measure, saying, 'He has done all things well. He makes even the deaf hear, and the mute speak!'

If I send them away fasting to their home, they will faint on the way, for some of them have come a long way.'

His disciples answered him, 'From where could one satisfy these people with bread here in a deserted place?'

He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground, and he took the seven loaves. Having given thanks, he broke them, and gave them to his disciples to serve, and they served the multitude.

They had a few small fish. Having blessed them, he said to serve these also.

Those who had eaten were about four thousand. Then he sent them away.

The Pharisees came out and began to question him, seeking from him a sign from heaven, and testing him.

He sighed deeply in his spirit, and said, 'Why does this generation seek a sign? Most certainly I tell you, no sign will be given to this generation.'

He left them, and again entering into the boat, departed to the other side.

They forgot to take bread; and they didn't have more than one loaf in the boat with them.

He warned them, saying, 'Take heed: beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and the yeast of Herod.'
