1. 27.16

   ⲛⲉ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲉϥⲥⲟⲛϩ ⲛⲧⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲙⲡⲓⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲉⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲉⲟⲩⲥⲟⲛⲓ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲩⲙⲟⲩϯ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϫⲉⲃⲁⲣⲁⲃⲃⲁⲥ .

   They had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas.

2. 27.17

   ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲑⲱⲟⲩϯ ⲉⲩⲙⲁ ⲡⲉϫⲉ ⲡⲓⲗⲁⲧⲟⲥ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲛⲧⲁⲭⲁϥ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲃⲁⲣⲁⲃⲃⲁⲥ ϣⲁⲛ ⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ⲫⲏ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲙⲟⲩϯ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϫⲉⲡⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ .

   When therefore they were gathered together, Pilate said to them, 'Whom do you want me to release to you? Barabbas, or Jesus, who is called Christ?'

3. 27.18

   ⲛⲁϥⲉⲙⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲡⲉ ϫⲉⲉⲧⲁⲩⲧⲏⲓϥ ⲉⲑⲃⲉⲟⲩⲫⲑⲟⲛⲟⲥ .

   For he knew that because of envy they had delivered him up.

4. 27.19

   ⲉϥϩⲉⲙⲥⲓ ⲇⲉ ϩⲓⲡⲓⲃⲏⲙⲁ ⲁⲥⲟⲩⲱⲣⲡ ϩⲁⲣⲟϥ ⲛϫⲉⲧⲉϥⲥϩⲓⲙⲓ ⲉⲥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉⲙⲡⲉⲣⲉⲣϩⲗⲓ ⲙⲡⲓⲑⲙⲏⲓ ⲉⲧⲧⲏ ⲁⲓϣⲉⲡ ⲟⲩⲙⲏϣ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛϧⲓⲥⲓ ⲉⲑⲃⲏⲧϥ ⲙⲡⲁⲓⲉϫⲱⲣϩ ϧⲉⲛⲧⲣⲁⲥⲟⲩⲓ .

   While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, 'Have nothing to do with that righteous man, for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him.'

5. 27.20

   ⲛⲓⲁⲣⲭⲓⲉⲣⲉⲩⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉⲙⲛⲓⲡⲣⲉⲥⲃⲩⲧⲉⲣⲟⲥ ⲁⲩⲑⲉⲧϩⲑⲏⲟⲩ ⲛⲛⲓⲙⲏϣ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲛⲥⲉⲉⲣⲉⲧⲓⲛ ⲙⲃⲁⲣⲁⲃⲃⲁⲥ ⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲥⲉⲧⲁⲕⲟϥ .

   Now the chief priests and the elders persuaded the multitudes to ask for Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.

6. 27.21

   ⲁϥⲉⲣⲟⲩⲱ ⲟⲩⲛ ⲛϫⲉⲡⲓϩⲏⲅⲉⲙⲱⲛ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩⲁϣϥ ⲛⲧⲁⲭⲁϥ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲡⲁⲓⲃ ⲛⲑⲱⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉⲃⲁⲣⲁⲃⲃⲁⲥ .

   But the governor answered them, 'Which of the two do you want me to release to you?' They said, 'Barabbas!'

7. 27.22

   ⲡⲉϫⲉ ⲡⲓⲗⲁⲧⲟⲥ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉⲟⲩ ⲡⲉϯⲛⲁⲁⲓϥ ⲛⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ⲫⲏ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲙⲟⲩϯ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϫⲉⲡⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ⲡⲉϫⲱⲟⲩ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ϫⲉⲙⲁⲣⲟⲩⲁϣϥ .

   Pilate said to them, 'What then shall I do to Jesus, who is called Christ?' They all said to him, 'Let him be crucified!'

8. 27.23

   ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⲛϫⲉⲡⲓϩⲏⲅⲉⲙⲱⲛ ϫⲉⲟⲩ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲡⲉⲧϩⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲁⲓϥ ⲛⲑⲱⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲛϩⲟⲩⲟ ⲛⲁⲩⲱϣ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉⲁϣϥ .

   But the governor said, 'Why? What evil has he done?' But they cried out exceedingly, saying, 'Let him be crucified!'

9. 27.24

   ⲉⲧⲁϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲛϫⲉⲡⲓⲗⲁⲧⲟⲥ ϫⲉϥⲛⲁϫⲉⲙϩⲏⲟⲩ ⲛϩⲗⲓ ⲁⲛ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲙⲁⲗⲗⲟⲛ ⲟⲩϣⲑⲟⲣⲧⲉⲣ ⲡⲉⲑⲛⲁϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲁϥϭⲓ ⲛⲟⲩⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲁϥⲓⲁ ⲛⲉϥϫⲓϫ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲡⲉⲙⲑⲟ ⲙⲡⲓⲙⲏϣ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉϯⲟⲓ ⲛⲁⲧⲛⲟⲃⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲁⲡⲥⲛⲟϥ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲁⲓⲑⲙⲏⲓ ⲛⲑⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲉⲣⲱϣⲓ .

   So when Pilate saw that nothing was being gained, but rather that a disturbance was starting, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, 'I am innocent of the blood of this righteous person. You see to it.'

10. 27.25

    ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲉⲣⲟⲩⲱ ⲛϫⲉⲡⲓⲗⲁⲧⲟⲥ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ϫⲉⲡⲉϥⲥⲛⲟϥ ⲉϩⲣⲏⲓ ⲉϫⲱⲛ ⲛⲉⲙⲉϫⲉⲛⲛⲉⲛϣⲏⲣⲓ .

    All the people answered, 'May his blood be on us, and on our children!'

11. 27.26

    ⲧⲟⲧⲉ ⲁϥⲭⲁ ⲃⲁⲣⲁⲃⲃⲁⲥ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲉⲣⲫⲣⲁⲅⲉⲗⲗⲓⲟⲛ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲁϥⲧⲏⲓϥ ⲉⲑⲣⲟⲩⲁϣϥ .

    Then he released to them Barabbas, but Jesus he flogged and delivered to be crucified.

12. 27.27

    ⲧⲟⲧⲉ ⲛⲓⲙⲁⲧⲟⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲓϩⲏⲅⲉⲙⲱⲛ ⲁⲩⲉⲗ ⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲡⲓⲡⲣⲉⲧⲱⲣⲓⲟⲛ ⲁⲩⲑⲱⲟⲩϯ ⲛϯⲥⲡⲓⲣⲁ ⲧⲏⲣⲥ ⲉϩⲣⲏⲓ ⲉϫⲱϥ .

    Then the governor's soldiers took Jesus into the Praetorium, and gathered the whole garrison together against him.

13. 27.28

    ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲃⲁϣϥ ⲁⲩϯ ⲭⲗⲁⲙⲓⲥ ⲛⲕⲟⲕⲕⲟⲥ ϩⲓⲱⲧϥ .

    They stripped him, and put a scarlet robe on him.

14. 27.29

    ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩϣⲱⲛⲧ ⲛⲟⲩⲭⲗⲟⲙ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛϩⲁⲛⲥⲟⲩⲣⲓ ⲁⲩⲧⲏⲓϥ ⲉϫⲉⲛⲧⲉϥⲁⲫⲉ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩⲭⲱ ⲛⲟⲩⲕⲁϣ ϧⲉⲛⲧⲉϥϫⲓϫ ⲛⲟⲩⲓⲛⲁⲙ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩϩⲓⲟⲩⲓ ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲉϫⲉⲛⲛⲟⲩⲕⲉⲗⲓ ⲙⲡⲉϥⲙⲑⲟ ⲉⲩⲥⲱⲃⲓ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉⲭⲉⲣⲉ ⲡⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⲛⲧⲉⲛⲓⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ .

    They braided a crown of thorns and put it on his head, and a reed in his right hand; and they kneeled down before him, and mocked him, saying, 'Hail, King of the Jews!'

15. 27.30

    ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁⲩϩⲓⲑⲁϥ ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ϧⲉⲛⲡⲉϥϩⲟ ⲁⲩⲱⲗⲓ ⲙⲡⲓⲕⲁϣ ⲁⲩϩⲓⲟⲩⲓ ϧⲉⲛⲧⲉϥⲁⲫⲉ .

    They spat on him, and took the reed and struck him on the head.

16. 27.31

    ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲟⲩⲱ ⲉⲩⲥⲱⲃⲓ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲁⲩⲃⲁϣϥ ⲛϯⲭⲗⲁⲙⲓⲥ ⲁⲩϯ ⲛⲛⲉϥϩⲃⲱⲥ ϩⲓⲱⲧϥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩⲟⲗϥ ⲉⲑⲣⲟⲩⲁϣϥ .

    When they had mocked him, they took the robe off of him, and put his clothes on him, and led him away to crucify him.

17. 27.32

    ⲉⲩⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲁⲩϫⲓⲙⲓ ⲛⲟⲩⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲛⲕⲩⲣⲓⲛⲛⲉⲟⲥ ⲉⲡⲉϥⲣⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲥⲓⲙⲱⲛ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲁⲩϭⲓⲧϥ ⲛⲭⲃⲁ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲛⲧⲉϥⲉⲗ ⲡⲉϥⲥⲧⲁⲩⲣⲟⲥ .

    As they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name, and they compelled him to go with them, that he might carry his cross.

18. 27.33

    ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲓ ⲉⲩⲙⲁ ⲉϣⲁⲩⲙⲟⲩϯ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϫⲉⲅⲟⲗⲅⲟⲑⲁ ⲉⲧⲉⲡⲓⲙⲁ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲓⲕⲣⲁⲛⲓⲟⲛ ⲡⲉ

    They came to a place called 'Golgotha,' that is to say, 'The place of a skull.'

19. 27.34

    ⲁⲩϯ ⲛⲟⲩⲏⲣⲡ ⲛⲁϥ ⲉϥⲙⲟϫⲧ ⲛⲉⲙⲟⲩϣⲁϣⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁϥϫⲉⲙϯⲡⲓ ⲙⲡⲉϥⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲉⲥⲱ .

    They gave him sour wine to drink mixed with gall. When he had tasted it, he would not drink.

20. 27.35

    ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲁϣϥ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩⲫⲱϣ ⲛⲛⲉϥϩⲃⲱⲥ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲩ ⲉⲁⲩϩⲓⲱⲡ ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ .

    When they had crucified him, they divided his clothing among them, casting lots,

21. 27.36

    ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁⲩϩⲉⲙⲥⲓ ⲉⲩⲁⲣⲉϩ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ .

    and they sat and watched him there.

22. 27.37

    ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩⲥϧⲉ ⲧⲉϥⲉⲧⲓⲁ ⲥⲁⲡϣⲱⲓ ⲛⲧⲉϥⲁⲫⲉ ⲉⲥⲥϧⲏⲟⲩⲧ ⲙⲡⲁⲓⲣⲏϯ ϫⲉⲫⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⲛⲧⲉⲛⲓⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ .

    They set up over his head the accusation against him written, 'THIS IS JESUS, THE KING OF THE JEWS.'

23. 27.38

    ⲧⲟⲧⲉ ⲁⲩⲉϣ ⲕⲉⲥⲟⲛⲓ ⲃⲛⲉⲙⲁϥ ⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲥⲁⲧⲉϥⲟⲩⲓⲛⲁⲙ ⲛⲉⲙⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲥⲁⲧⲉϥϫⲁϭⲏ .

    Then there were two robbers crucified with him, one on his right hand and one on the left.

24. 27.39

    ⲛⲏ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲛⲁⲩⲥⲓⲛⲓ ⲛⲁⲩϫⲉⲟⲩⲁ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲉⲩⲕⲓⲙ ⲛⲧⲟⲩⲁⲫⲉ .

    Those who passed by blasphemed him, wagging their heads,

25. 27.40

    ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉⲫⲏ ⲉⲑⲛⲁⲃⲉⲗ ⲡⲓⲉⲣⲫⲉⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲧⲉϥⲕⲟⲧϥ ϧⲉⲛⲅⲛⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲁϩⲙⲉⲕ ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲛⲑⲟⲕ ⲡⲉ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲙⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲁⲙⲟⲩ ⲉⲡⲉⲥⲏⲧ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲡⲓϣⲉ .

    and saying, 'You who destroy the temple, and build it in three days, save yourself! If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross!'

26. 27.41

    ⲫⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ⲙⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲛⲛⲓⲁⲣⲭⲓⲉⲣⲉⲩⲥ ⲛⲉⲙⲛⲓⲥⲁϧ ⲛⲉⲙⲛⲓⲡⲣⲉⲥⲃⲩⲧⲉⲣⲟⲥ ⲁⲩⲥⲱⲃⲓ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ

    Likewise the chief priests also mocking, with the scribes, the Pharisees, and the elders, said,

27. 27.42

    ϫⲉⲁϥⲛⲟϩⲉⲙ ⲛϩⲁⲛⲕⲉⲭⲱⲟⲩⲛⲓ ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ϣϫⲟⲙ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲉⲛⲁϩⲙⲉϥ ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲡⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⲙⲡⲓⲥⲗ ⲡⲉ ⲙⲁⲣⲉϥⲓ ⲉⲡⲉⲥⲏⲧ ϯⲛⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲡⲓϣⲉ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁϩϯ ⲉⲣⲟϥ .

    'He saved others, but he can't save himself. If he is the King of Israel, let him come down from the cross now, and we will believe in him.

28. 27.43

    ⲓⲥϫⲉ ϩⲑⲏϥ ⲭⲏ ⲉⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲙⲁⲣⲉϥⲛⲁϩⲙⲉϥ ⲓⲥϫⲉ ϥⲟⲩⲁϣϥ ⲁϥϫⲟⲥ ⲅⲁⲣ ϫⲉⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲡⲉ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲙⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ .

    He trusts in God. Let God deliver him now, if he wants him; for he said, 'I am the Son of God.''

29. 27.44

    ⲫⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲛⲁⲣⲉⲛⲓⲕⲉⲥⲟⲛⲓ ϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲛⲏ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲁϣⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙⲁϥ ⲉⲩϯϣϭⲛⲏⲛ ⲛⲉⲙⲁϥ .

    The robbers also who were crucified with him cast on him the same reproach.

30. 27.45

    ⲓⲥϫⲉⲛ ⲫⲛⲁⲩ ⲛⲁϫⲡ ⲁⲡⲭⲁⲕⲓ ϣⲱⲡⲓ ϩⲓϫⲉⲛⲡⲕⲁϩⲓ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ϣⲁⲫⲛⲁⲩ ⲛⲁϫⲡ ⲧ .

    Now from the sixth hour

31. 27.46

    ⲉⲧⲁ ⲫⲛⲁⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁϫⲡ ⲧϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲁϥⲱϣ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϫⲉⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ϧⲉⲛⲟⲩⲛⲓϣϯ ⲛϧⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉⲉⲗⲱⲓ ⲉⲗⲱⲓ ⲗⲉⲙⲁ ⲥⲁⲃⲁⲕⲑⲁⲛⲓ ⲉⲧⲉⲫⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ϫⲉⲡⲁⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲡⲁⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲉⲑⲃⲉⲟⲩ ⲁⲕⲭⲁⲧ ⲛⲥⲱⲕ .

    About the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, 'Eli, Eli, lima

32. 27.47

    ϩⲁⲛⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲛⲏ ⲉⲧⲟϩⲓ ⲉⲣⲁⲧⲟⲩⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲛⲁⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉⲁϥⲙⲟⲩϯ ⲟⲩⲃⲉ ⲏⲗⲓⲁⲥ .

    Some of them who stood there, when they heard it, said, 'This man is calling Elijah.'

33. 27.48

    ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲥⲁⲧⲟⲧϥ ⲁϥϭⲟϫⲓ ⲛϫⲉⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϧⲏⲧⲟⲩ ⲁϥϭⲓ ⲛⲟⲩⲥⲫⲟⲅⲅⲟⲥ ⲁϥⲙⲁϩⲥ ⲛϩⲉⲙϫ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲑⲟⲕⲥ ⲉⲟⲩⲕⲁϣ ⲁⲩⲧⲥⲟϥ .

    Immediately one of them ran, and took a sponge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him a drink.

34. 27.49

    ⲡⲥⲉⲡⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉⲭⲁⲥ ⲛⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉϥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲛϫⲉⲏⲗⲓⲁⲥ ⲛⲧⲉϥⲛⲁϩⲙⲉϥ .

    The rest said, 'Let him be. Let's see whether Elijah comes to save him.'

35. 27.50

    ⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲟⲛ ⲁϥⲱϣ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲟⲩⲛⲓϣϯ ⲛϧⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲁϥϯ ⲙⲡⲓⲡⲛⲉⲩⲙⲁ .

    Jesus cried again with a loud voice, and yielded up his spirit.

36. 27.51

    ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲓⲥ ⲡⲓⲕⲁⲧⲁⲡⲉⲧⲁⲥⲙⲁ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲓⲉⲣⲫⲉⲓ ⲁϥⲫⲱϫⲓ ⲓⲥϫⲉⲛ ⲡϣⲱⲓ ⲉⲡⲉⲥⲏⲧ ⲁϥⲉⲣⲃ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲓⲕⲁϩⲓ ⲁϥⲙⲟⲛⲙⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲓⲡⲉⲧⲣⲁ ⲁⲩⲫⲱϫⲓ .

    Behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from the top to the bottom. The earth quaked and the rocks were split.

37. 27.52

    Command therefore that the tomb be made secure until the third day, lest perhaps his disciples come at night and steal him away, and tell the people, 'He is risen from the dead;' and the last deception will be worse than the first.'

50. 27.65

    Pilate said to them, 'You have a guard. Go, make it as secure as you can.'

    ⲛⲑⲱⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩϣⲉ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲧⲁϫⲣⲟ ⲙⲡⲓⲙϩⲁⲩ ⲁⲩⲧⲟⲃϥ ⲛⲉⲙϯⲕⲟⲩⲥⲧⲱⲇⲓⲁ .

    So they went with the guard and made the tomb secure, sealing the stone.

    Now after the Sabbath, as it began to dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.

    Behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from the sky, and came and rolled away the stone from the door, and sat on it.

54. 28.3

    ⲡⲉϥⲥⲙⲟⲧ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁϥⲟⲓ ⲙⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲛⲟⲩⲥⲉⲧⲉⲃⲣⲏ ϫⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲧⲉϥϩⲉⲃⲥⲱ ⲉⲥⲟⲩⲟⲃϣ ⲙⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲛⲟⲩⲭⲓⲱⲛ .

    His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow.

    For fear of him, the guards shook, and became like dead men.

    ⲁϥⲉⲣⲟⲩⲱ ⲇⲉ ⲛϫⲉⲡⲓⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲛⲓϩⲓⲟⲙⲓ ϫⲉⲙⲡⲉⲣⲉⲣϩⲟϯ ⲛⲑⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϯⲉⲙⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ϫⲉⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ⲫⲏ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲁϣϥ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲕⲱϯ ⲛⲥⲱϥ .

    The angel answered the women, 'Don't be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus, who has been crucified.

57. 28.6

    ϥⲭⲏ ⲙⲡⲁⲓⲙⲁ ⲁⲛ ⲁϥⲧⲱⲛϥ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲙⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲉⲧⲁϥϫⲟⲥ ⲁⲙⲱⲓⲛⲓ ⲁⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲡⲓⲙⲁ ⲉⲛⲁϥⲭⲏ ⲙⲙⲟϥ .

    He is not here, for he has risen, just like he said. Come, see the place where the Lord was lying.

58. 28.7

    ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲭⲱⲗⲉⲙ ⲙⲁϣⲉ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲁϫⲟⲥ ⲛⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ϫⲉⲁϥⲧⲱⲛϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲛⲏ ⲉⲧⲙⲱⲟⲩⲧ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ϩⲏⲡⲡⲉ ϥⲛⲁⲉⲣϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲉϯⲅⲁⲗⲓⲗⲉⲁ ⲁⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲓⲥ ϩⲏⲡⲡⲉ ⲁⲓϫⲟⲥ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ .

    Go quickly and tell his disciples, 'He has risen from the dead, and behold, he goes before you into Galilee; there you will see him.' Behold, I have told you.'

59. 28.8

    ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁⲩϣⲉ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲭⲱⲗⲉⲙ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲁⲡⲓⲙϩⲁⲩ ϧⲉⲛⲟⲩϩⲟϯ ⲛⲉⲙⲟⲩⲛⲓϣϯ ⲛⲣⲁϣⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁⲩϭⲟϫⲓ ⲉⲧⲁⲙⲉ ⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ .

    They departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring his disciples word.

    As they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, 'Rejoice!' They came and took hold of his feet, and worshiped him.

    Then Jesus said to them, 'Don't be afraid. Go tell my brothers that they should go into Galilee, and there they will see me.'

    ⲉⲧⲁⲩϣⲉ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⲓⲥ ϩⲁⲛⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲛⲓⲕⲟⲩⲥⲧⲱⲇⲓⲁ ⲁⲩⲓ ⲉϯⲃⲁⲕⲓ ⲁⲩⲧⲁⲙⲉ ⲛⲓⲁⲣⲭⲓⲉⲣⲉⲩⲥ ⲉϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉⲧⲁⲩϣⲱⲡⲓ .

    Now while they were going, behold, some of the guards came into the city, and told the chief priests all the things that had happened.

    ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲑⲱⲟⲩϯ ⲛⲉⲙⲛⲓⲡⲣⲉⲥⲃⲩⲧⲉⲣⲟⲥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲩⲉⲣ ⲟⲩⲥⲟϭⲛⲓ ⲁⲩϭⲓ ⲛϩⲁⲛϩⲁⲧ ⲉⲩⲙⲡϣⲁ ⲁⲩⲧⲏⲓⲧⲟⲩ ⲛⲛⲓⲙⲁⲧⲟⲓ

    When they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave a large amount of silver to the soldiers,

    ϫⲉⲁϫⲟⲥ ϫⲉⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲓ ⲛϫⲱⲣϩ ⲁⲩⲟⲗϥ ⲛϭⲓⲟⲩⲓ ϩⲱⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲛⲛⲕⲟⲧ .

    saying, 'Say that his disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.

65. 28.14

    ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉϣⲱⲡ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲓϩⲏⲅⲉⲙⲱⲛ ⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲉⲡⲁⲓⲥⲁϫⲓ ⲉⲛⲉⲑⲉⲧϩⲑⲏϥ ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲛⲉⲉⲣ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⲛⲁⲧⲣⲱⲟⲩϣ .

    If this comes to the governor's ears, we will persuade him and make you free of worry.'

    ⲛⲑⲱⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲁⲩϭⲓ ⲛⲛⲓϩⲁⲧ ⲁⲩⲓⲣⲓ ⲙⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲥⲁⲃⲱⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲡⲁⲓⲥⲁϫⲓ ⲥⲱⲣ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲛⲓⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ ϣⲁⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲫⲟⲟⲩ .

    So they took the money and did as they were told. This saying was spread abroad among the Jews, and continues until this day.

67. 28.16

    ⲡⲓⲓⲁ ⲙⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲁⲩϣⲉ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⲉϩⲣⲏⲓ ⲉϯⲅⲁⲗⲓⲗⲉⲁ ⲉϩⲣⲏⲓ ⲉϫⲉⲛⲡⲓⲧⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲁ ⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ϯⲛⲉⲓ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲣⲟϥ .

    But the eleven disciples went into Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had sent them.

    ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲁⲩⲟⲩⲱϣⲧ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ϩⲁⲛⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩϭⲓⲥⲁⲛⲓⲥ .

    When they saw him, they bowed down to him, but some doubted.

69. 28.18

    ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲓ ⲛϫⲉⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ⲁϥⲥⲁϫⲓ ⲛⲉⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉⲁⲩϯⲉⲣϣⲓϣⲓ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲛⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛⲧⲫⲉ ⲛⲉⲙϩⲓϫⲉⲛⲡⲓⲕⲁϩⲓ .

    Jesus came to them and spoke to them, saying, 'All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.
