So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; from David to the exile to Babylon fourteen generations; and from the carrying away to Babylon to the Christ, fourteen generations.

Now the birth of Jesus Christ was like this; for after his mother, Mary, was engaged to Joseph, before they came together, she was found pregnant by the Holy Spirit.

ⲓⲱⲥⲏⲫ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉⲥϩⲁⲓ ⲛⲉⲟⲩⲑⲙⲏⲓ ⲡⲉ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛϥⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲁⲓⲥ ⲛⲥⲣⲁϩ ⲁϥⲥⲟϭⲛⲓ ⲉⲭⲁⲥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲭⲱⲡ .
Joseph, her husband, being a righteous man, and not willing to make her a public example, intended to put her away secretly.

But when he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, 'Joseph, son of David, don't be afraid to take to yourself Mary, your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.

ⲉⲥⲉⲙⲓⲥⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲟⲩϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲉⲕⲉⲙⲟⲩϯ ⲉⲡⲉϥⲣⲁⲛ ϫⲉⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ⲛⲑⲟϥ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲑⲛⲁⲛⲟϩⲉⲙ ⲙⲡⲉϥⲗⲁⲟⲥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲛⲟⲩⲛⲟⲃⲓ .
She shall bring forth a son. You shall call his name Jesus, for it is he who shall save his people from their sins.'

ⲫⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲓ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲛⲧⲉϥϫⲱⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϫⲉⲫⲏ ⲉⲧⲁ ⲡϭⲟⲓⲥ ϫⲟϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲧϥ ⲙⲡⲓⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ .
Now all this has happened, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying,

ϫⲉϩⲏⲡⲡⲉ ⲓⲥ ϯⲡⲁⲣⲑⲉⲛⲟⲥ ⲉⲥⲉⲉⲣⲃⲟⲕⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲥⲉⲙⲓⲥⲓ ⲛⲟⲩϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲉⲩⲉⲙⲟⲩϯ ⲉⲡⲉϥⲣⲁⲛ ϫⲉⲉⲙⲙⲁⲛⲟⲩⲏⲗ ⲫⲏ ⲉⲧⲉϣⲁⲩⲟⲩⲁϩⲙⲉϥ ϫⲉⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲛⲉⲙⲁⲛ .
'Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son. They shall call his name Immanuel;' which is, being interpreted, 'God with us.'

ⲉⲧⲁϥⲧⲱⲛϥ ⲇⲉ ⲛϫⲉⲓⲱⲥⲏⲫ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲡⲓⲛⲕⲟⲧ ⲁϥⲓⲣⲓ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲉⲧⲁ ⲡⲓⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⲛⲧⲉⲡϭⲟⲓⲥ ⲟⲩⲁϩⲥⲁϩⲛⲓ ⲛⲁϥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥϣⲉⲡ ⲙⲁⲣⲓⲁ ⲧⲉϥⲥϩⲓⲙⲓ ⲉⲣⲟϥ .
Joseph arose from his sleep, and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took his wife to himself;

and didn't know her sexually until she had brought forth her firstborn son. He named him Jesus.

ⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲙⲁⲥϥ ϧⲉⲛⲃⲏⲑⲗⲉⲉⲙ ⲛⲧⲉϯⲓⲟⲩⲇⲉⲁ ϧⲉⲛⲛⲓⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲧⲉⲏⲣⲱⲇⲏⲥ ⲡⲟⲩⲣⲟ ϩⲏⲡⲡⲉ ⲓⲥ ϩⲁⲛⲙⲁⲅⲟⲥ ⲁⲩⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲥⲁⲡⲉⲓⲉⲃⲧ ⲉⲓⲉⲣⲟⲥⲁⲗⲏⲙ .
Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying,

ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉⲁϥⲑⲱⲛ ⲫⲏ ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲙⲁⲥϥ ⲡⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⲛⲧⲉⲛⲓⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ ⲁⲛⲛⲁⲩ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲡⲉϥⲥⲓⲟⲩ ⲥⲁⲡⲉⲓⲉⲃⲧ ⲁⲛⲓ ϫⲉⲛⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩⲱϣⲧ ⲙⲙⲟϥ .
'Where is he who is born King of the Jews? For we saw his star in the east, and have come to worship him.'

ⲉⲧⲁϥⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲇⲉ ⲛϫⲉⲡⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⲏⲣⲱⲇⲏⲥ ⲁϥϣⲑⲟⲣⲧⲉⲣ ⲛⲉⲙⲓⲉⲣⲟⲥⲁⲗⲏⲙ ⲧⲏⲣⲥ ⲛⲉⲙⲁϥ .
When Herod the king heard it, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.

ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲑⲱⲟⲩϯ ⲛⲛⲓⲁⲣⲭⲓⲉⲣⲉⲩⲥ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙⲛⲓⲥⲁϧ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲓⲗⲁⲟⲥ ⲛⲁϥϣⲓⲛⲓ ⲛⲧⲟⲧⲟⲩ ϫⲉⲁⲩⲛⲁⲙⲉⲥ ⲡⲭⲣⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ⲑⲱⲛ .
Gathering together all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he asked them where the Christ would be born.

ⲛⲑⲱⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉϧⲉⲛⲃⲏⲑⲗⲉⲉⲙ ⲛⲧⲉϯⲓⲟⲩⲇⲉⲁ ⲡⲁⲓⲣⲏϯ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲧⲥϧⲏⲟⲩⲧ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲧϥ ⲙⲡⲓⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ .
They said to him, 'In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it is written through the prophet,

ϫⲉⲛⲉⲙⲛⲑⲟ ϩⲱⲓ ⲃⲏⲑⲗⲉⲉⲙ ⲡⲕⲁϩⲓ ⲛⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁ ⲛⲑⲟ ⲟⲩⲕⲟⲩϫⲓ ⲁⲛ ϧⲉⲛⲛⲓⲙⲉⲧϩⲏⲅⲉⲙⲱⲛ ⲛⲧⲉⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁ ⲉϥⲉⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϧⲏϯ ⲛϫⲉⲟⲩϩⲏⲅⲟⲩⲙⲉⲛⲟⲥ ⲫⲏ ⲉⲑⲛⲁⲁⲙⲟⲛⲓ ⲙⲡⲁⲗⲁⲟⲥ ⲡⲓⲥⲗ .
'You Bethlehem, land of Judah, are in no way least among the princes of Judah: for out of you shall come forth a governor, who shall shepherd my people, Israel.''

ⲧⲟⲧⲉ ⲏⲣⲱⲇⲏⲥ ⲁϥⲙⲟⲩϯ ⲉⲛⲓⲙⲁⲅⲟⲥ ⲛⲭⲱⲡ ⲁϥϧⲟⲧϧⲉⲧ ⲛⲧⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲛⲥⲁⲡⲓⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲓⲥⲓⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ .
Then Herod secretly called the wise men, and learned from them exactly what time the star appeared.

ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲟⲣⲡⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲏⲑⲗⲉⲉⲙ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉⲙⲁϣⲉ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϣⲓⲛⲓ ⲁⲕⲣⲓⲃⲱⲥ ⲉⲑⲃⲉⲡⲓⲁⲗⲟⲩ ⲉϣⲱⲡ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛϫⲉⲙϥ ⲙⲁⲧⲁⲙⲟⲓ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲛⲧⲁⲓ ϩⲱ ⲛⲧⲁⲟⲩⲱϣⲧ ⲙⲙⲟϥ .
He sent them to Bethlehem, and said, 'Go and search diligently for the young child. When you have found him, bring me word, so that I also may come and worship him.'

and was there until the death of Herod; that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, 'Out of Egypt I called my son.'

Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked by the wise men, was exceedingly angry, and sent out, and killed all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all the surrounding countryside, from two years old and under, according to the exact time which he had learned from the wise men.

But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, saying,

But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea in the place of his father, Herod, he was afraid to go there. Being warned in a dream, he withdrew into the region of Galilee,

For this is he who was spoken of by Isaiah the prophet, saying, 'The voice of one crying in the wilderness, make ready the way of the Lord. Make his paths straight.'

Now John himself wore clothing made of camel's hair, with a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey.

Then people from Jerusalem, all of Judea, and all the region around the Jordan went out to him.

But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming for his baptism, he said to them, 'You offspring of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

Don't think to yourselves, 'We have Abraham for our father,' for I tell you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.

'Even now the axe lies at the root of the trees. Therefore, every tree that doesn't bring forth good fruit is cut down, and cast into the fire.

His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will thoroughly cleanse his threshing floor. He will gather his wheat into the barn, but the chaff he will burn up with unquenchable fire.'

Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to John, to be baptized by him.

But Jesus, answering, said to him, 'Allow it now, for this is the fitting way for us to fulfill all righteousness.' Then he allowed him.

ⲉⲧⲁϥⲱⲙⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲛϫⲉⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ⲥⲁⲧⲟⲧϥ ⲁϥⲓ ⲉⲡϣⲱⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲡⲓⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ϩⲏⲡⲡⲉ ⲁⲩⲟⲩⲱⲛ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛϫⲉⲛⲓⲫⲏⲟⲩⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲟⲩⲡⲛⲉⲩⲙⲁⲛⲧⲉⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲉϥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲉⲡⲉⲥⲏⲧ ⲙⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲛⲟⲩϭⲣⲟⲙⲡⲓ ⲉϥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ϩⲁⲣⲟϥ .
Jesus, when he was baptized, went up directly from the water: and behold, the heavens were opened to him. He saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove, and coming on him.

Behold, a voice out of the heavens said, 'This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.'
4.1
ⲧⲟⲧⲉ ⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ⲁⲡⲓⲡⲛⲉⲩⲙⲁⲟⲗϥ ⲉⲡϣⲁϥⲉ ⲉⲡϫⲓⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲇⲓⲁⲃⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲉⲣⲡⲓⲣⲁⲍⲓⲛ ⲙⲙⲟϥ .
Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.
4.2
ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲉⲣⲛⲏⲥⲧⲉⲩⲓⲛ ⲛⲙⲛⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙⲙⲛⲉϫⲱⲣϩ ⲉⲡϧⲁⲉ ⲁϥϩⲕⲟ .
When he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was hungry afterward.

ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲓ ⲛϫⲉⲫⲏ ⲉⲧϭⲱⲛⲧ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲛⲑⲟⲕ ⲡⲉ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲙⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲁϫⲟⲥ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲛⲧⲉⲛⲁⲓⲱⲛⲓ ⲉⲣⲱⲓⲕ .
The tempter came and said to him, 'If you are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.'
4.4
ⲛⲑⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥⲉⲣⲟⲩⲱ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉⲥⲥϧⲏ ⲟⲩⲧ ϫⲉⲛⲁⲣⲉⲡⲓⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲛⲁⲱⲛϧ ⲉⲱⲓⲕ ⲙⲙⲁⲩⲁⲧϥ ⲁⲛ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉϫⲉⲛⲥⲁϫⲓ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉⲑⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛⲣⲱϥ ⲙⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ .
But he answered, 'It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.''

ⲧⲟⲧⲉ ⲁϥⲟⲗϥ ⲛϫⲉⲡⲓⲇⲓⲁⲃⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲉϯⲃⲁⲕⲓ ⲉⲑⲟⲩⲁⲃ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲧⲁϩⲟϥ ⲉⲣⲁⲧϥ ⲉϫⲉⲛⲡⲧⲉⲛϩ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲓⲉⲣⲫⲉⲓ .
Then the devil took him into the holy city. He set him on the pinnacle of the temple,

ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲛⲑⲟⲕ ⲡⲉ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲙⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ ϩⲓⲧⲕ ⲉⲡⲉⲥⲏⲧ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲧⲁⲓ ⲥⲥϧⲏ ⲟⲩⲧ ⲅⲁⲣ ϫⲉϥⲛⲁϩⲟⲛϩⲉⲛ ⲛⲧⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲛⲛⲉϥⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⲉⲑⲃⲏⲧⲕ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲩⲉϥⲓⲧⲕ ϩⲓϫⲉⲛⲛⲟⲩϫⲓϫ ⲙⲏⲡⲟⲧⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲕϭⲓϭⲣⲟⲡ ⲉⲟⲩⲱⲛⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲕϭ ⲁⲗⲟϫ .
and said to him, 'If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, 'He will put his angels in charge of you.' and, 'On their hands they will bear you up, so that you don't dash your foot against a stone.''
4.7
ⲁϥⲉⲣⲟⲩⲱ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛϫⲉⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ϫⲉⲡⲁⲗⲓⲛ ⲥⲥϧⲏ ⲟⲩⲧ ϫⲉⲛⲛⲉⲕⲉⲣⲡⲓⲣⲁⲍⲓⲛ ⲙⲡϭⲟⲓⲥ ⲡⲉⲕⲛⲟⲩϯ .
Jesus said to him, 'Again, it is written, 'You shall not test the Lord, your God.''
4.8
ⲡⲁⲗⲓⲛ ⲟⲛ ⲁϥⲟⲗϥ ⲛϫⲉⲡⲓⲇⲓⲁⲃⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲉϫⲉⲛⲟⲩⲧⲱⲟⲩ ⲉϥϭⲟⲥⲓ ⲉⲙⲁϣⲱ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲧⲁⲙⲟϥ ⲉⲛⲓⲙⲉⲧⲟⲩⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲛⲧⲉⲡⲓⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲙⲡⲟⲩⲱⲟⲩ .
Again, the devil took him to an exceedingly high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world, and their glory.
4.9
ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉⲛⲁⲓ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ϯⲛⲁⲧⲏⲓⲧⲟⲩ ⲛⲁⲕ ⲁⲕϣⲁⲛϩⲓⲧⲕ ⲉϧⲣⲏⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲕⲟⲩⲱϣⲧ ⲙⲙⲟⲓ .
He said to him, 'I will give you all of these things, if you will fall down and worship me.'

ⲧⲟⲧⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲉ ⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉⲙⲁϣⲉ ⲛⲁⲕ ⲡⲥⲁⲧⲁⲛⲁⲥ ⲥⲥϧⲏⲟⲩⲧ ⲅⲁⲣ ϫⲉⲡϭⲟⲓⲥ ⲡⲉⲕⲛⲟⲩϯ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲕⲉⲟⲩⲱϣⲧ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲑⲟϥ ⲙⲙⲁⲩⲁⲧϥ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲕⲉϣⲉⲙϣⲏⲧϥ .
Then Jesus said to him, 'Get behind me,

ⲧⲟⲧⲉ ⲁϥⲭⲁϥ ⲛϫⲉⲡⲓⲇⲓⲁⲃⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲓⲥ ϩⲁⲛⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⲁⲩⲓ ⲁⲩϣⲉⲙϣⲓ ⲙⲙⲟϥ .
Then the devil left him, and behold, angels came and served him.
4.12
ⲉⲧⲁϥⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲇⲉ ϫⲉⲁⲩϯ ⲛⲓⲱⲁⲛⲛⲏⲥ ⲁϥϣⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ⲉϯⲅⲁⲗⲓⲗⲉⲁ .
Now when Jesus heard that John was delivered up, he withdrew into Galilee.
4.13
ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲭⲱ ⲛⲛⲁⲍⲁⲣⲉⲑ ⲛⲥⲱϥ ⲁϥⲓ ⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲓ ϧⲉⲛⲕⲁⲫⲁⲣⲛⲁⲟⲩⲙ ⲑⲏ ⲉⲧϩⲓⲥⲕⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲟⲙ ϧⲉⲛⲛⲓϭⲓⲏ ⲛⲧⲉⲍⲁⲃⲟⲩⲗⲱⲛ ⲛⲉⲙⲛⲉⲫⲑⲁⲗⲓⲙ .
Leaving Nazareth, he came and lived in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali,

ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲛⲧⲉϥϫⲱⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϫⲉⲫⲏ ⲉⲧⲁϥϫⲟϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲧϥ ⲛⲏⲥⲁⲓⲁⲥ ⲡⲓⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ .
that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying,

'The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, toward the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles,

ⲡⲓⲗⲁⲟⲥ ⲉⲧϩⲉⲙⲥⲓ ϧⲉⲛⲡⲭⲁⲕⲓ ⲁϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲟⲩⲛⲓϣϯ ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲓⲛⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲏ ⲉⲧϩⲉⲙⲥⲓ ϧⲉⲛⲧⲭⲱⲣⲁ ⲛⲉⲙⲧϧⲏⲓⲃⲓ ⲙⲫⲙⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟⲩⲱⲓⲛⲓ ⲁϥϣⲁⲓ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ .
the people who sat in darkness saw a great light, to those who sat in the region and shadow of death, to them light has dawned.'

ⲓⲥϫⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲉⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲁϥⲉⲣϩⲏⲧⲥ ⲛϫⲉⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ⲛϩⲓⲱⲓϣ ⲛⲉⲙⲉϫⲟⲥ ϫⲉⲁⲣⲓⲙⲉⲧⲁⲛⲟⲉⲓⲛ ⲁⲥϧⲱⲛⲧ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛϫⲉϯⲙⲉⲧⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⲛⲧⲉⲛⲓⲫⲏⲟⲩⲓ .
From that time, Jesus began to preach, and to say, 'Repent! For the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.'

ⲉϥⲙⲟϣⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲥⲕⲉⲛⲫⲓⲟⲙ ⲛⲧⲉϯⲅⲁⲗⲓⲗⲉⲁ ⲁϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲥⲟⲛ ⲥⲓⲙⲱⲛ ⲫⲏ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲙⲟⲩϯ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϫⲉⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲙⲁⲛⲇⲣⲉⲁⲥ ⲡⲉϥⲥⲟⲛ ⲉⲩϩⲓ ϣⲛⲉ ⲉⲫⲓⲟⲙ ⲛⲉϩⲁⲛⲟⲩⲟϩⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲉ .
Walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers: Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew, his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.

ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉⲁⲙⲱⲓⲛⲓ ⲙⲟϣⲓ ⲛⲥⲱⲓ ⲛⲧⲁⲉⲣ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⲛⲟⲩⲟϩⲓ ⲛⲣⲉϥⲧⲁϩⲉ ⲣⲱⲙⲓ .
He said to them, 'Come after me, and I will make you fishers for men.'
4.20
ⲛⲑⲱⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲥⲁⲧⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲭⲱ ⲛⲛⲟⲩϣⲛⲏ ⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩⲙⲟϣⲓ ⲛⲥⲱϥ .
They immediately left their nets and followed him.

ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲥⲓⲛⲓ ⲉⲧϩⲏ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲁϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲕⲉⲥⲟⲛ ⲓⲁⲕⲱⲃⲟⲥ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲛⲍⲉⲃⲉⲇⲉⲟⲥ ⲛⲉⲙⲓⲱⲁⲛⲛⲏⲥ ⲡⲉϥⲥⲟⲛ ⲉⲩϩⲓ ⲡⲓϫⲟⲉⲓ ⲛⲉⲙⲍⲉⲃⲉⲇⲉⲟⲥ ⲡⲟⲩⲓⲱⲧ ⲉⲩⲥⲟⲃϯ ⲛⲛⲟⲩϣⲛⲏ ⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲙⲟⲩϯ ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ .
Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. He called them.
4.22
ⲛⲑⲱⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲥⲁⲧⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲭⲱ ⲙⲡⲓϫⲟⲉⲓ ⲛⲉⲙⲍⲉⲃⲉⲇⲉⲟⲥ ⲡⲟⲩⲓⲱⲧ ⲁⲩⲙⲟϣⲓ ⲛⲥⲱϥ .
They immediately left the boat and their father, and followed him.

ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁϥⲕⲱϯ ⲡⲉ ⲛϫⲉⲓⲏⲥⲟⲩⲥ ϧⲉⲛϯⲅⲁⲗⲓⲗⲉⲁ ⲧⲏⲣⲥ ⲉϥϯⲥⲃⲱ ϧⲉⲛⲛⲟⲩⲥⲩⲛⲁⲅⲱⲅⲏ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉϥϩⲓⲱⲓϣ ⲙⲡⲓⲉⲩⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲓⲟⲛ ⲛⲧⲉϯⲙⲉⲧⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉϥⲉⲣⲫⲁϧⲣⲓ ⲉϣⲱⲛⲓ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉⲧϧⲉⲛⲡⲓⲗⲁⲟⲥ .
Jesus went about in all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the Good News of the Kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness among the people.

ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲧⲉϥⲥⲙⲏ ⲓⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛϯⲥⲩⲣⲓⲁ ⲧⲏⲣⲥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩⲓⲛⲓ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉⲧⲧϩⲉⲙⲕⲏⲟⲩⲧ ϧⲉⲛⲛⲟⲩϣⲱⲛⲓ ⲛⲉⲙⲛⲟⲩⲙⲕⲁⲩϩ ⲛⲟⲩⲙⲏϣ ⲛⲣⲏϯ ⲛⲏ ⲉⲧⲉⲛⲓⲇⲁⲓⲙⲱⲛ ⲛⲉⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙⲛⲏ ⲉⲧⲟⲓ ⲙⲡⲉⲣⲙⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲙⲛⲏ ⲉⲧϣⲏⲗ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲉⲣⲫⲁϧⲣⲓ ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ .
The report about him went out into all Syria. They brought to him all who were sick, afflicted with various diseases and torments, possessed with demons, epileptics, and paralytics; and he healed them.

ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩⲙⲟϣⲓ ⲛⲥⲱϥ ⲛϫⲉϩⲁⲛⲛⲓϣϯ ⲙⲙⲏϣ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛϯⲅⲁⲗⲓⲗⲉⲁ ⲛⲉⲙϯⲙⲏϯ ⲙⲃⲁⲕⲓ ⲛⲉⲙⲓⲉⲣⲟⲥⲁⲗⲏⲙ ⲛⲉⲙϯⲓⲟⲩⲇⲉⲁ ⲛⲉⲙϩⲓⲙⲏⲣ ⲙⲡⲓⲓⲟⲣⲇⲁⲛⲏⲥ .
Great multitudes from Galilee, Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea and from beyond the Jordan followed him.

ⲉⲧⲁϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲛⲓⲙⲏϣ ⲁϥϣⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ⲉⲡϣⲱⲓ ⲉϫⲉⲛⲡⲓⲧⲱⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁϥϩⲉⲙⲥⲓ ⲁⲩⲓ ϩⲁⲣⲟϥ ⲛϫⲉⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ .
Seeing the multitudes, he went up onto the mountain. When he had sat down, his disciples came to him.

ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲧⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲛ ⲛⲣⲱϥ ⲛⲁϥϯⲥⲃⲱ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ
He opened his mouth and taught them, saying,

ⲟⲱⲩⲛⲓⲁⲧⲟⲩ ⲛⲛⲓϩⲏⲕⲓ ⲙⲡⲓⲡⲛⲉⲩⲙⲁϫⲉ ⲑⲱⲟⲩ ⲧⲉ ϯⲙⲉⲧⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⲛⲧⲉⲛⲓⲫⲏⲟⲩⲓ .
'Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
5.4
ⲟⲱⲩⲛⲓⲁⲧⲟⲩ ⲛⲛⲏ ⲉⲧⲉⲣϩⲏⲃⲓ ϯⲛⲟⲩ ϫⲉⲛⲑⲱⲟⲩ ⲡⲉⲧⲟⲩⲛⲁϯϩⲟ ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ .
Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
5.5
ⲟⲱⲩⲛⲓⲁⲧⲟⲩ ⲛⲛⲓⲣⲉⲙⲣⲁⲩϣ ϫⲉⲛⲑⲱⲟⲩ ⲡⲉⲑⲛⲁⲉⲣⲕⲗⲏⲣⲟⲛⲟⲙⲓⲛ ⲙⲡⲓⲕⲁϩⲓ .
Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth.
5.6
ⲟⲱⲩⲛⲓⲁⲧⲟⲩ ⲛⲛⲏ ⲉⲧϩⲟⲕⲉⲣ ⲛⲉⲙⲛⲏ ⲉⲧⲟⲃⲓ ⲛϯⲙⲉⲑⲙⲏⲓ ϫⲉⲛⲑⲱⲟⲩ ⲡⲉⲑⲛⲁⲥⲓ .
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled.
5.7
ⲟⲱⲩⲛⲓⲁⲧⲟⲩ ⲛⲛⲓⲛⲁⲏⲧ ϫⲉⲛⲑⲱⲟⲩ ⲡⲉⲧⲟⲩⲛⲁⲛⲁⲓ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ .
Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
5.8
ⲟⲱⲩⲛⲓⲁⲧⲟⲩ ⲛⲛⲏ ⲉⲑⲟⲩⲁⲃ ϧⲉⲛⲡⲟⲩϩⲏⲧ ϫⲉⲛⲑⲱⲟⲩ ⲡⲉⲑⲛⲁⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ .
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
5.9
ⲟⲱⲩⲛⲓⲁⲧⲟⲩ ⲛⲛⲓⲣⲉϥⲉⲣϩⲓⲣⲏⲛⲏ ϫⲉⲛⲑⲱⲟⲩ ⲡⲉⲧⲟⲩⲛⲁⲙⲟⲩϯ ⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉⲛⲓϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ .
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.
5.10
