Commentary
ii 8': lú?bur.lagab? is unclear. – As it is, the verbal form te-te-te-DA-ni cannot be resolved. Not without reservations, we emend it to tu!-te-eṭ!-⌈ṭa⌉-ni (tuteṭṭanni < eṭû-D pret.).
ii 9': la ṭú-ḫu-du is taken from ṭuḫdu/ṭuḫḫudu “fullness, abundance”, although the syntactic construction is not clear.
ii 16': il-ta-nap-tin-na-šú stands for iltanappataššu (< lapātu-Gtn-pres. +am +šu).
ii 17': We understand din?-nu? for dinnû, a rare word for bed (CAD D 150), followed by ta-ḫi-ib-ba-⌈tu?⌉, taḫbātu (taḫabātu) “a textile; overlay” (CAD T 48). By the end of the line, e-muq-tú for emūtu “force” (although this word could be a form of ēmiqtu “carer”).
ii 19': šá-du-uʾ? is a late spelling for šaddu “chest or container” (CAD Š/1, 42), with the word-final long vowel marked with the aleph sign (Hackl 2021, 1438).
r. i 2': ḫi-ṣí-tu4 is unattested. We presume an abstract noun ḫiṣṣitu, derived from ḫaṣāṣu “to snap off”, used for reed, but also for the neck of human beings. With qablu “battle” that follows this may be a metaphorical expression for falling soldiers.
r. i 18': The verbal form it-ta-na-áš-šá-<áš> (< ašāšu-Ntn pres.) assumes that a sign was mistakenly dropped, or that the last two signs, áš and šá, were erroneously switched: it-ta-na-šá-áš.
